Ah thanks. I'm happy and it feels right. Grief is inevitable but temporary when it comes to dealing with bigots like Chappelle.

Some people are for justice on a deep, philosophical level, and some people just had the bad luck to be born into a group that got the short end of the societal stick. Chappelle is quickly revealing himself to be someone who, had he been born white, would absolutely be whining about taking “our” country back.
Doubling down is sadly where the money’s at in this day and age. Yeah you drum up a lot of negative press but even that’ll draw a lot of eyes on you and therefore money.
Congrats by the way for coming out!
Considering this incredibly rich man came back from his self-imposed exile by telling us to give Trump a chance because it might be good for his money, before launching into a series of comedy specials in which he routinely doubled down on some dumb and hateful shit against minorities (because he was convinced he was…
Why is he talking to the gay and trans community as though we are diametrically opposed to the Black community?
It’s really a shame how good of a comedian he used to be and how much of a hack he is now.
Look, if our millionaire comedians can’t make fun of marginalized groups, then don’t the terrorists somehow win?
jebus, he doubled down on it? Fuckin A he can talk about literally anything he wants to and get paid millions of dollars and THIS is what he’s passionate about? The earlier transphobic stuff really soured me on that special and made me start to reconsider him. Then I watched 8:46 and it wasn’t amazing, but more than…
Said edginess is just saying dude in a dress or I identity as a helicopter. If I wanted lame repetitive comedy that punches down I'd watch Bill Maher.
Not even transphobic jokes at this point. Just full-on hate speech without even an attempt at humor.
I know people love those two comedians and they are influential, but goddamn did they punch down hard and frankly that gets tiring. Its not clever or funny, it's not like those two excuse the behavior but if your going to be like this at the very least be entertaining.
Oh Jesus Christ. As someone who has struggled with gender identity and after this year identity as a woman this is goddamn miserable. I live in the same state Chappelle calls home and people loooooove him here. Siding with JK Rowling is a rather quick and easy way to out yourself as an asshole.
People go on about touchy-feely liberal clapter, but it’s always the edgy anti-PC crowd who give these tedious, preachy speeches. It’s the same kind of persecution complex that made late-period Lenny Bruce and Bill Hicks so exhausting.
These big baby whiner comics only take these criticisms as proof of their edginess.
2003 Dave would probably strangle himself to prevent 2021 Dave’s existence if he knew he’d become the sorta asshole who panders to the people who made him quit Chappelle’s Show in the first place.

Because when Parasite won, Twitter was nothing but fascists bitching about commie Oscars.
“...America’s “awards community” or whomever has their ears, is panicking to avoid another upset like Parasite.”
I don’t think the awards community actually cares that much. As much as we want to imagine some Hollywood stuffed shirt spiking his phone in rage while yelling “conflab it, it was supposed to be Jojo Rabbit!”, the truth is that it wouldn’t have won if there wasn’t a broad coalition that was OK with it.
