There could also be issues like script continuity the actor isn’t considering or aware of.

I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Denzel in real life.
To me, it’s unclear as to whether she was genuinely telling the other actor to look at her, or if she was in character as Meredith demanding that the other character look at her.
Grey’s kept going and she kinda lost her chance to move on to movies - so she’s gotten rich from Grey’s and moved into producing and directing.
Time to go stockpile food again because telling people not to stockpile food just makes people stockpile food.
You don’t think the actress playing Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy in her 12th year would know what sort of ad libs are or are not appropriate in this “environment”?
Dude, show business is hard. The fact that she still has a regular gig with a high salary is a miracle unto itself, even if she was the least interesting part of her own show in the early years.
Gonna rehash what I just posted on the root, since I feel like it’s relevant to the discussion:
We remember one of the greatest if not the greatest moments in AV Club history.
Neither?
Sadly, too many people don’t know the (sometimes subtle) difference between trolling and just being an asshole.
“If someone is an all-time great and you’re mediocre”
so many comments that boil down to “women should stand up for themselves, unless it’s against someone we like!” :(

I don’t think she necessarily thinks the story makes her look “good.”
She was in Old School, Daredevil, and Catch Me If You Can - all pre-Greys. Some TV actors are simply content having a regular gig in one city, especially if they are raising kids. And even though it’s not exactly factory work a TV series (especially the lead) can be a grind of long days and months on set.
Denzel went HAM on my ass
Or, and this is going to sound wild, she's the lead character in an hour long drama that films something like 24 episodes a year. It's a pretty darn massive time commitment.
She's the lead character on a very long running network show and is quite wealthy because of it. I think she's probably just fine. I forgot how misogynistic this site gets sometimes. She might be an asshole, Washington might be one too, but you inferring this makes you the biggest asshole.
“Like nobody wants to work with her.”
