You have a valid point, but if you can get 2.5 times the range for a few thousand more than the top level trim from a Tesla, there is no conceivable reason for this car to exist anywhere outside of compliance markets.

Except he sells more electric cars than anyone else, with the best range and far and away the best charging infrastructure. And Tesla is a part-time gig for him.

Yeah its as if calling someone a name isn’t worth getting a multi million dollar payout. We live in crazy times.

Why are you shocked? Unsworthy made an insult first and provoked Musk into insulting back. You can’t provoke a person with an insult then sue them.

Regarding that last point. Tesla actually cooperates with existing businesses already to position the superchargers at locations that already have a restaurant or at least a convenience store. In Texas, they seem to have a deal with the Love’s gas station chain to put the superchargers at the same locations (the one

A little surprised Tesla hasn’t rebranded it or spun it off and started selling licenses already.

They need to make Tesla’s supercharger an SAE standard so other companies don’t feel like they are losing face by adopting a competitor’s system.

I don't think you understand what aftermarket means....

I agree $100 refundable deposits don’t mean a ton, but what bad history? Tesla has easily sold every car it’s been able to manufacture. demand outstrips their manufacturing capability right now. that implies they haven’t been lying about interest.

the Model 3 is too quick for ya? understandable.

Not a Tesla fanboy in any way.... but even i’d rather be hit by a Cybertruck....than the Chrome-brick-wall-of-ugly that is most other pickups...something tells me the Cybertruck might be cushier

Dodge Circuit EV working prototype that existed alongside the first Tesla Roadster. Sure the body was a slightly modified Lotus but damn.

I drooled over this when I saw it at the 2011 LA Auto show. I just knew they must have had a 300hp variant ready to release, if not at initial intro, soon after. I mean, WHY WOULDN’T THEY?

Yes, I had a deposit on one.

The RX-Vision. Which has led to so many RX-9 rumors I've lost count.

And this was while Ghosn was at the helm

I appreciate the thoughtful, intelligent analysis. Shine on, you bright beam, and spread your light upon the earth.

I don’t think it looks crude, rushed or rudimentary at all. I think it takes inspiration from modern architecture and military hardware design, mixes in a bit of scifi futurism and makes for a brilliant, novel styling direction—maybe the first truly new styling theme we’ve seen since Gandini’s game-changing Alfa

As with all things Tesla, expect +33% on the price and -25% on the promised performance.

Presumably, the bizzare design resulted in simplicity of manufacturing which allowed them to blow the doors off everyone’s price expectations (and Rivian that starts ~$30k higher).
