You have a valid point, but if you can get 2.5 times the range for a few thousand more than the top level trim from a Tesla, there is no conceivable reason for this car to exist anywhere outside of compliance markets.

They need to make Tesla’s supercharger an SAE standard so other companies don’t feel like they are losing face by adopting a competitor’s system.

I think it takes inspiration from modern architecture and military hardware design, mixes in a bit of scifi futurism and makes for a brilliant, novel styling direction—maybe the first truly new styling theme we’ve seen since Gandini’s game-changing Alfa…

Presumably, the bizzare design resulted in simplicity of manufacturing which allowed them to blow the doors off everyone’s price expectations (and Rivian that starts ~$30k higher).
