Well, there’s another (pretty fundamental) problem with the sequel trilogy that the OT didn’t have. Namely, the way they were built allowed for a lot of options in where they went, so the wide-open, make each movie independently of the last one was far, far easier. There were no dangling mysteries, no puzzle-box

Plus TFA was going in very obvious directions that would have been narratively boring. Upending what JJ had in mind did it a favor, even if it derailed what JJ inevitably brought back onto the boring rails in Skywalker.

At least TLJ said “yes, and” to TFA. Luke felt guilt after Ben turned and left everything behind? That’s from TFA. Rey being a nobody and her bloodline not mattering? Maz says as much in TFA. I disagree with her whole assessment of the situation, and argue that’s exactly what TROS did but on a larger, more artless

Exactly! It’s not Rian Johnson’s fault that JJ Abrams thinks you can just dump ideas for a mystery without any plan to solve them until the last minute if at all. It’s like people who go out of their way to blame The Last Jedi for Rise of Skywalkers’ failings forget how Abrams’ Mystery Box works.

I guess my take is maybe one of those “hot takes” I’ve heard people talk about, but I think Last Jedi is really the only “good” film of the new trilogy, and has more interesting things to say than literally any of the Star Wars movies (except maybe Empire Strikes Back). Thematically, TLJ is just richer, whereas Force

It’s entirely likely that the final version of the video was edited together to be synchronized properly and that when they were actually doing this at the time it didn’t flow quite as perfectly.

A friend of mine said that Seth Meyers would be the natural pick. This was right when “Late Night with Seth Meyers” first started, and his reasoning for the choice was that the talk show was a promised stopgap for Meyers until Lorne retires. Seemed like very specific B.S.!

At one time, I was thinking Tina Fey.

Isn’t this one that a child trained very hard for gymnastics and then did gymnastics at the olympics?

I don’t think it’s creepy; it’s just a beautifully romantic-sounding song whose lyrics describe a loving S&M relationship.

Eh, it’s still an underdog story.

But she was also on an episode of Beverly Hills 90210.

It was cool to watch happen in the moment, but is it really that interesting of a story to retell in a movie? She was an olympic gymnast who sprained her ankle and still did a good job. What else compelling is there really to the story?

The first season was edgy garbage but season 2 was great. Looking forward to this

Spartacus owns. (And Courtney is very good! Quit making him talk with an American accent and he’s fine.) Bianca going toe to toe with scheming Lucy Lawless, John Hannah playing every scene like a combination of Richard III and Al Goldstein, Manu Bennett kicking all sorts of ass and of course Whitfield growing so much

Spartacus was much more than the T&A/Violence porn it gets lumped into. It also had some great writing/characterization and one of he best series closing episodes in the Peak TV era. This show was everything GOT aspired to be.

JUPITER’S COCK!”

Since watching I’ll always feel let down by a sword fight scene, unless someone’s face gets cut off.

Spartacus was so over the top in everything. Whether it was violence, nudity (male and female) or colorful phrasing (“My c-ck rages on!””Gratitude”) It also made me really appreciate Lucy Lawless and John Hannah.

Don’t forget John Hannah as that magnificent bastard Batiatus
