They’re both the most compelling stylists to come out of Hollywood in years. Only David Fincher or Zack Snyder come close in having a look so associated with their films, but they’re not even that close.

Burton still has (and has always had) trouble with putting style over story. Anderson is very idiosyncratic, as you said, but tells actual stories.

Because she's a college student in New Hampshire and clearly could not have attended a caucus due to her age. She also said later that she had not in fact attended a caucus.

Yeah, he was jokingly ribbing people for lying about having been to a caucus. Most people recognize that, I think.

if copying Inception counts as “one of the most visually distinctive,” then I guess the first Doctor Strange was that.  sure, why not.

I feel like everyone is ignoring the fact that Tracey Wigfield (“30 Rock” and the late, lamented “Great News”) is in charge. I get being skeptical, but for me that earns it at least a chance to prove itself.

Zack loves the poor.  He dated a homeless girl.  He did everything he could to make Kelly’s prom the night of her life after he learned that world peace broke out which meant her dad lost his job.   In college he was a key part in the big Thanksgiving dinner to raise money.  Hell, he even gave up money and scraped by

He’s very busy these days and not interested in showrunning anymore but I have to imagine this is embarrassing for him.

Holy shit, Jones is straight up slamming them. This has way, way too much detail for nuance.

The suggestion is that her saying something about Leno’s joke being inappropriate was used by the producers as an example of her being “difficult”.

Here:

Well those X-Men films oof. That's understandably disappointing.

This has been a thing for Dennis for a little while. He refused to say “Duolingo” when discussing the (brilliant) Kristen Stewart “learn to talk to children” sketch.

The Sara Lee sketch (product name used because it’s unlikely they paid for this), like the aforementioned (chicken restaurant that probably did pony up) sketch was, for lack of a better term, unapologetically and matter-of-factly gay

God I hate that scene in Ghostbusters 2016. That movie is 2/3rds fun and funny and then the last action turns into a bunch of terrible CGI movie action hero bad ass bullshit with zero comedy.

Seems like a fair answer.

There’s plenty of people that seem to be commenting here in ignorance both of her history with Weinstein, and her role in helping to bring him down, which turns out to be considerable.

Interpreting things in the worst possible way to maximize outrage is beyond obnoxious.

The NYT reporters that broke the Weinstein story say that Paltrow was instrumental in helping bring in women who had suffered his abuse so they could tell their tales. There are plenty of things to find ridiculous about Paltrow, but I don’t think this is one of them.

Yes God forbid we have a nuanced adult answer.
