Hmmm...my wife might be interested in this. She loved her Pebble Time Round while it lasted. I got her a Samsung Galaxy Active and she likes it fine but damn that thing is always on the charger and it regularly requires a person with an advanced computer science degree to figure out why the hell basic functions are

Most people would also consider 4x5 large format, but yeah, this is at the smaller end of medium format. Still this camera looks amazing.

There are definitely more options for tuning, but I’ve noticed that newer TVs (I’ve bought 2 in the last year) are actually much better out of the box (as long as they’re not set to the showroom settings). The rtings site also provides some good baseline settings for different manufacturers. I remember having to tweak

This is pretty cool, but it would be even better if it had a retractable AC wall plug.

part of me also thinks this way, but at this point it’s cheaper for them to sell me a smart tv that you can basically bypass the smarts by hooking up whatever device I want. That way if I don’t want to I don’t have to worry about messing with external image/audio processing, tuners, drivers, or components. It really

Yeah. that seems like it could be a cool feature. Especially on an 85inch panel. Anything you can do it eliminate the BIG BLACK BOX on the wall is welcome. At that size, it’d be interesting for them to do multiple “framed” images on the mimicked wall.

I have a Frame but use a Chromecast Ultra for most of my watching (other than OTA TV). It works perfectly fine (especially with CEC controls). The Samsung interface is actually pretty nice when I use it. Does the Q80 have the one connect box? That’s actually one of my favorite things about the Frame.

The 4-year old Vizio I have doesn’t have a OTA TV tuner. I don’t think we’ll see TVs without speakers in any significance (manufacturers would get too many returns when people realized they couldn’t hear the audio and had to purchase another device). I also don’t think we’ll see a significant shift away from the term “

I don’t think the form factor will die (at least not anytime soon). Dumb panels would be nice, but the smart stuff makes the TVs cheaper so they can be priced competitively. Also, only a small proportion of people are going to be interested building a TV “system.” I’d also imagine if TVs became more modular it would

Other than the corn starch hack, I would also suggest making a mirepoix of sautéed onion, celery (+ leaves), and carrots (plus any other veggies or greens you like) and then instead of straining the bits hit them with a wand mixer or blender.

Just posted this separately. Corn starch is the ultimate hack for broth soup.

I always add a tablespoon or two of corn starch to my broth-based soups. It really adds body. Just be sure to dissolve it in some cold water before adding it.

That reminds me. Gotta get the little dude into the old TMNT. He’s going hard on the newer animated series (which is on Hulu), which means me getting inadvertently karate chopped in the balls every so often as he pretends to be a ninja.

I get Peacock free with my Xfinity internet sub so it’s an easy decision for me. It’d probably be an intermittent sub otherwise, but I think it’s value is competitive with Netflix since it’s so much cheaper.

If it were Paw Patrol and Blaze it might work, but I haven’t seen those on Pluto.

With the decrease in quality content and price increase, Netflix is quickly dropping in value.

agreed. The can actually provide some texture to soft sweet potatoes.

I would have done something like NBC and named it something like Peak or Summit.

The Nickelodeon is tempting as a parent of a 4 year old. It will also be tempting if the movie IP catalog is exhaustive and presented well (4k/HDR/Atmos)

IDK, I kind of like the Peacock name for precisely the reason you mention.
