No need to build a bunker, just make sure you have an efficient car that will last you 5-10 years and is preferably paid off. I have mine! That said, some of the best deals can be had during a recession....provided you have a job.
Trucks are the internet porn of vehicles. People are like “Nah, I don’t need that” and then open their browser at 2am and go to the RAM configurator.
The recession is coming... while OEMs have been killing off small, efficient cars and introducing $45-60K small trucks.
It’s about the center of gravity. When you move it higher, even if it’s “based on a car” or a unibody - you ain’t gonna beat physics.
Yes, it’s weird how Jalops used to love boxes (station wagons and shooting brakes), but it’s now considered sacrilege if it’s this particular kind of box. I can hardly recognize this place anymore.
2/3 of all car sales are used, and used cars are lasting longer and longer. Plus Jalops don’t buy new cars anyway so we still have plenty of time.

I have about 65k miles on my P85 and here are some interesting aspects:
You are the first person I’ve seen that actually likes the Lexus infotainment system. The Cadillac touchscreen is the same as the on in Chevys and GMCs, and it’s quite simple to use.
Lincoln sales aren’t anything to crow about. They have had success in certain months on certain vehicles but Cadillac still outsells them.
THIS. Someone once asked me how Hyundai/Kia can get away with selling their cars cheaper and still have the same quality of their top competition, I told them to just Google “HYUNDAI” and get back me lol.
The contractors that sued him and his ex-employees didn’t like that part either.
Personally, I like that they’re not faking Russian accents, since it usually comes across as cartoonist. I suppose Russian actors would have been a good idea, but, then you have to find enough that can speak English well enough to really pull off all the parts.
The podcast accompanying the episodes goes into great detail about this.
