Fieri is fun to watch. I will spend an entire afternoon watching a DDD marathon if given the opportunity.

White people truly and sincerely believe as long as they don’t use the N-word, or in some cases, don’t “seriously” use it (i.e. they were “only joking” or “being ironic” or “those are the lyrics”) then they cannot be accused of racism.

I love the honey-fermented garlic + chili combo.

ok ok so maybe “jewface” is a thing

Oh lord the bartenders and waiters and other restaurant industry types I knew back in the day... the amount of coke and sex they were all having with each other put us musicians to shame.

Yea... it’s tiring, it makes me roll my eyes, but... I can also just look away.

Thanks, I’m working on eliminating that word from my vocabulary, but still fuck up more than I’d like.

I played in numerous bands throughout my 20s. Nothing major, certainly nothing even close to the Smash Mouth level. But even as a regional bar band, there was definitely a culture of non-stop partying to the whole thing which was awesome, but also verged on destructive. Not to be dramatic, but my health definitely

Not famous. I think his adoptive father was a theater director or something, but not a top tier dude. Probably provided Diesel some valuable early experience and connections but not like a golden rolodex or anything like that.

Maybe? I guess I read it differently. I read it as an implication that Diesel grew up in the namby pampby theater world and had things handed to him, whereas Johnson is somehow “the real deal”. The truth to me feels like they both were able to leverage familial connections and benefit from being exposed to

there is only one way to find out

The personal digs are interesting, coming from Johnson. Particularly the “Unlike him, I did not come from the world of theater” line. Didn’t Johnson come from something of a wrestling dynasty? Not trying to downplay the physical demands of wrestling here but... I mean, it is a form theater, no?

Not thrilled about the special. No, I haven’t seen it. From the coverage alone, I wish they hadn’t. But I get why they did it. $$$. If they’d just moved on, I think we’d be on to another news cycle by tomorrow.

Yea whining about your taxes when the line at the DMV is long or whatever is fucking lame.

Gaaaa I know!!! Take these judgments and settlements directly out of their pension funds, we’ll see behavior straighten up right quick.

The thing I keep seeing in these interactions, time and again, is how much of these conflicts stem from cops being absolutely unwilling to discuss, course correct, admit the tiniest fault, etc, all in the need to absolutely dominate any situation and any person they are interacting with.

I personally prefer the metric system over Imperial. And the last couple campaigns I ran, I made a conscious effort to use the metric system for descriptions of distances, weights, etc.

You’re probably right in that very few dudes are touching the ball. But they are all touching each other an awful lot. With potentially jammy jelly mitts.

70/30 is disappointing. But 50/50 sounds risky - feels like you’re asking for the jelly to be sliding out of the sandwich. Imagine those dudes coming out to football it up and they’ve got sticky jam hands, jam all over their uniforms, getting it all over the ball.
