Bring a Trailer is just a place for people with too much money and too much love for their first or favorite basic car can buy one again. I know if I could find a really nice late 90s early 00s GMC sonoma, and I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. New ones are WAY more expensive than that.

I agree with those who suspect money laundering.

I’m not going to try and justify this purchase because I don’t know much about Jeeps and don’t care much for SUVs in any case, but a new Grand Cherokee Overland sells for twice that.

Bring a Trailer was originally an auction site setup for old/obscure cars, project cars, motorcycles, etc. It became an alternative to ebay motors as a way to reach a broad audience of enthusiasts, and the open questions/comments forum was a great innovation - you could ask questions to the seller and also see answers

Can we assume from the seller name that this jeep also doesn’t actually WORK? Or is “bring a trailer” branding language?

I can only think of it being a straggler or someone dying shortly after buying.

This isn’t even a GOOD Jeep...why would anyone do this?

13yo vehicle with essentially zero miles is a timebomb of small and big things going wrong due to inactivity. With that mileage its seen 2-3 tanks of fuel at best, so that’s gotta be flushed out at least. I can imagine alot of other items will come up too.  Hard pass for me on this type of deal.

So they paid 33k when a brand new off the lot model with better tech and a warranty is maybe 6k more? That site has to be money laundering or half of the bidders are in the early stages of dementia.

Could have impaired sense of smell from COVID, spouse had it two years ago and ever since their senses of taste and smell have been off.

Your nose will do that.

So the truck is going to be recording all the time. This will be used by the police against the owners most of the time.

This is clearly a fear mongering ploy mixed with brand confusion avoidance. They obviously couldn’t market it for its best use case“, Sentry Mode” because Tesla owns that. They can say that this system is novel even though it will function the same way.

Producers of Locked Up Abroad freaking out at prospect of losing show subjects.

I don’t think “We build police cruisers and cars that narc on you,” is the good sales pitch Ford thinks it is. You’d think after the way “spy cars watching for speeding” went over that they would at least try to patent this under a shell corp.

so i guess if you hide it well enough where the car can’t detect it, then border/customs agents probably won’t either?

Earl Stone does not approve.

Will it find the pound of ground beef that fell out of the grocery bag in August ?

Yeah a concern, same with checking in luggage that isn't a carry on for a flight. Paranoia is total awareness.
