If the US government developed this plane, it would DEFINITELY use them in military applications.

Maybe I’m being over-sensitive, but that 2nd-to-last paragraph about potential military application kind of plays into the anti-Chinese propaganda being floated by the current administration. Why can’t it be what they said? Search and rescue, tanker plane? Chinese get to have these too, right?

Well that’s an easy answer... to set off car alarms in parking lots.

Can confirm, was born in ‘74 and lots of toy cars/trucks/vans I had as a kid had side pipes. It probably helped that they hid the body-to-chassis plate snap lugs on a toy car.
