That Blaine’s iconic kick off on “Be My Baby” is linked to Dirty Dancing rather than Scorsese’s Mean Streets says a lot about this site’s presumed readership.
That would be May and Taylor, Deacon has had zero to do with the industry since the 90s and is essentially a required signature whenever the moron brothers want to do something.
Oh man, don’t pin this on poor John Deacon. He’s been out of it since the Freddie tribute show, pretty much.
I had some email back-and-forth with Carol Kaye (bassist from the so-called “Wrecking Crew”) and she had colorful things to say about Blaine, despite her respect of his abilities.. of course, the better the drummer, typically, the bigger the a******e... ask Buddy Rich. I don’t know what it was like to work with him…
RIP. Listen to his great fills in this.
John Deacon seems to understand that.
“But Hal Blaine would take over when they needed the best.”
The gypsies had no home and The Doors had no bass!
Given how historically accurate the film was, they might as well just go for broke in the next one and have it be about Brian May inventing a time machine, so they can have all sorts of excellent and/or bogus adventures.
That movie is great!
Disney is just recycling old material.
I can confirm as a middle aged white male that I have never been served by Brie Larson.

“Where do country folks go when they die? / They don’t go to heaven where the angels fly / They go to Branson, Miss-ouuu-raiii / You can see them perform any day that ends in Y”
Given the nature of the character, they could have just gone back to Rebecca Romijn.
I would watch a movie like that at least twice.
They’re idiots for not making that cuz I would easily watch a whole trilogy based on that single premise (and Fassbender’s performance).
There is so much potential in that premise, especially as apart from Magneto you could have a totally new cast of characters and the time and space to develop them.
Remember the first movie, where Mystique says “It’s people like you who made me afraid to go to school as a child?” Remember how much that one line told you about the world’s hatred of mutants that looked different, about Mystique’s rage and desire to be seen as herself?
