Had a chance to interview him several years ago at a convention, and he was as engaging and fun to talk to as you could possibly hope. We talked a lot about the Jack Hill movies, and my favorite Spider-Baby. Super cool guy. I’ll have to dig out the mini-cassette and give the interview a listen again. RIP Sid!

Thanks for the rec, yowza! I’ll be in my bunk.

I am on your wavelength, TaumpyTears (great name, btw.) I saw House of 1000 Corpses on the big screen and left it thinking “That wasn’t GOOD, but he has style. There’s SOMETHING there that he can build on.” Devil’s Rejects felt like another step forward. Still couldn’t say it was GOOD, but there was a nugget of style

I do appreciate that they went to the effort to get the Joe Strummer Artist Series Telecaster to complete the effect. It’s a relic edition in which every little scratch and bit of rust is reproduced in loving detail. Being a huge Clash fan, I bought one back when it came out for $500, and was super excited to do so. I

“By all means mediocre”??? Clearly we didn’t see the same film. Deep Blue Sea is a hoot. Love it. Now “The Meg”, that is a mediocre, disappointing shark movie.

Also saw Deep Rising in the theater, opening weekend, but I’ve always been a sucker for water-based monster movies. Deep Star Six, Leviathan, Abyss, man, that was a magical summer.

42 years old here, also got tickets to Cats for X-mas which was also my first musical. Loved it. Saw it a couple of times later with subsequent tours. It works as a musical. I don’t understand why people complain about the plot. How much plot do you really need in a musical? You have an overarching theme, the

Hi! Kentuckian here! Just wanted you to know I don’t even have a sister. Thanks!

It’s difficult to defend the works of Rob Zombie, because they’re mostly not great. Or good, even. Really, I guess they’re mostly bad. But I like what he’s GOING for. He has an eye, he can produce memorable images, but he just hasn’t pulled the whole thing together yet. How many chances do I give him? To be fair, I

We went to see BWP the first showing on the first day that it hit theaters here in town with a couple of friends. There had been some hype after it premiered on the festival circuit, but it wasn’t quite at worldwide phenomenon level yet. I thought it was terribly effective, but then again I tend to enjoy slowburn,

What’s not to love? De Palma is having a blast with the camera, the performances are a ton of fun (Gerrit Graham is so great as Beef), and most of all, Paul Williams songs are top notch. One of my all time favorite soundtracks and movies. It’s just fun.

Gremlins 2 is Joe Dante’s id set wild. Like rubbery Looney Tunes. What a blast. I love the first film, primarily for nostalgia’s sake, but Gremlins 2 is the one I watch regularly.

Will always upvote a Nexus reference.

This is always worth pointing out. In my life I’ve had several people dismiss Sandman as being too highbrow or arty or whatever. And it’s true that Sandman can be very literary at times. But it’s also a great big love letter to DC comics history.

Well this is very welcome news! Thanks!

I pray that they never convert it to Guardians or whatever, because the ToT theming may be my favorite in all of the Orlando parks, outside of Haunted Mansion. I love everything about it. The ride is fun, but walking through the pre-show is my favorite part by far.

HA, yes!

Ghost hunting shows are my guiltiest of guilty pleasures. I can’t justify my enjoyment at all. They actually send my wife running from the room, not because she’s scared, but rather, because “I can’t stand listening to these people talk.”

Doing an Elderliness Self Check with this article, I have actually heard of three of these artists, actually heard two of them, and have never heard of nor heard the music of the remainder. Oldness confirmed!
