I love all of Jackie’s movies (well, maybe not the Hollywood era so much) but Drunken Master II was life-changing. That first big drunken fight, I’d never seen bodies do stuff like that. As soon as I finished watching it, I had to watch it all over again. I ended up dubbing a VHS copy of my friend’s copy, which itself

I don’t care who writes or directs it, I just want Bronze Tiger and Count Vertigo this go round.

Loved Whiplash, strongly disliked La La Land...where will First Man fall on this very small spectrum? No real interest in the subject or the star, but we’ll hope for the best.

Gah, I was all excited about this until I saw Jason Clarke. I don’t understand how he keeps getting cast in stuff. He’s so bland. He’s like human toast.

Geezus so that WAS Brett Butler! I hadn’t bothered to confirm, I just remember thinking “Boy, that looks a lot like Brett Butler”, but I had no idea she was even doing anything anymore.

I really think the first season is great all around. Like, they were really taking a swing at “prestige television”. Then Darabont got shitcanned and the whole thing became very “basic” basic cable. I’ve watched every episode, and I have no idea why.

I exclaimed to the missus “Hey, it’s the Russian framework robot guy!” So yeah, I’d imagine we’ll be seeing quite a bit more of him as the season goes on. Would be odd for him to have a recurring role on one show only to be a glorified extra in another.

Although I have heard both of these names (probably from reading AV Club) I have no idea who these people are.

It’s not T2, it’s Spawn. It couldn’t be any more Spawn if it tried. I won’t be surprised if John Leguizamo shows up.

Hot take: Lisa Bonet is hot!

I am hoping that last season was just an instance of them “finding their way”, and this season will be more relaxed and natural. My biggest gripes against S11:

I set ‘em up, you knock ‘em down!

I’ll give it a look, but Thom Yorke is no Goblin.

There’s something wrong with that horribly photoshopped picture, but I can’t decide what it is. Is her neck broken? Is she a hunchback?

Rubys Arms is definitely a contender for me, but Innocent When you Dream is probably still my top pick.

Thanks, I was puzzling over that for a bit.

And now I’ve googled “Hayley Atwell BFI”, and now...I’m spent.

I think I’ve mentioned this in another thread previously, but AMC’s plan would work just fine for me...if it was any theater other than AMC. We only have one AMC theater here, and it’s by far the worst theater in town.

The Mist really was appalling. It doesn’t help that the story is probably my favorite King short, and I also love the feature film. I don’t know how you take such a simple story and turn it into something so convoluted. Ugh.

Re: reserved seating, I thought you were talking about about reserving specific seats, which can be a hassle when going with others due to individuals wanting to pay separately, etc. I also don’t always know what seat I’m going to want to sit in until I’m in the theater, based on a variety of factors. I just don’t see
