Agreed. Superman Returns’ worst sin is simply that it’s kinda boring. But as far as nailing the character, it’s right on.

I dunno, I guess Lady Bird is supposed to be great, but whenever I see the trailer I just think, “Ugh, white people.”

Oh right, good memory, I’d forgotten about the theme itself! And no, I’m not aware of that song being reissued anywhere else, and it’s also a personal favorite. Such a pervasive atmosphere of doom. Even for what was a moderately dark album, that song was a mood killer. Love it!

The X-Files Songs in the Key of X compilation had a hidden Nick Cave track that you could only find by hitting rewind on the first track, I believe. Kind of a neat trick, and I thought it was a pretty good Nick song as well.

I totally get it. I love them both. They are giants of the medium. But at the end of the day I am a simple man, and I respond to those luscious thick black inks and pretty gals in Jaime’s work just a hair more. But Gilbert is right there next to him in my heart!

I got to meet both Jaime and Gilbert about 20 years ago, and agree, they were super nice and easy to talk to. Got a nice Luba sketch from Gilbert too!

God, I love Murder by Death. What an amazing cast. And it’s so smart about being so stupid. Just a delight.

I went on a MotOE bender a few months ago, and watched the Suchet and Molina versions back to back while I was bored at work. I’d seen the Finney version several times before. Although I am usually all about Suchet, there was something a little too heavy handed and moralizing about that version.

Apparently Beck and Weezer both released albums, and I definitely didn’t care, and as far as I can tell, nothing has happened. So, there’s your answer. I wouldn’t worry so much!

My favorite ep is when Larry gets amnesia, so Balki has to teach him his name, which he pronounces “Coo-sin Lah-ree Applaytone”. So that’s how Larry says it. “My name ees Coo-Sin Lah-ree Apllaytone.” Anyway, maybe you had to be there.
