Wesley Snipes is absolutely terrific as D’Urville Martin. I hope this ignites a proper comeback, or he’s the next actor to get the Tarantino comeback treatment.

The name of his comedy albums made me think of Mantan Moreland, who I discovered from the Beastie Boys sampling of him saying "Shit, if I knew it was gonna be that kind of party, I woulda stuck my dick in the mashed potatoes!"

I don’t think people took real kindly to Mr. Church.

Ever since I seen the trailer I prayed this would be good, you can never tell when Murphy is going to be good or go super broad and overshoot. This seemed like it had the potential to be either what with him playing such a loud character. 

I was not aware of any “critical ignominy.” But then I don’t have the time to watch everything that every entertainer everywhere on Earth has done for the past 30 years. I loved the Nutty Professor movies and most everything he had done before (especially Trading Places). I’m looking forward to this project.
