Seat Belt pre-tensioners are supposed to explode. But they just aren’t supposed to eject any parts when they do. For this one, they filled the thing with paint just to make it cooler looking, but this is basically the way they work. In an accident, a charge goes off and it sucks the seat belt buckle into the seat.

Approved!

So, there wont be left over wheels every year? Probably just as well, really.

I think the 915s (from an ‘86) are more finicky than the G50s (from an ‘87). A well set up 915 is a delight, but they don’t always stay that way long, and most owners of 35 year-old cars don’t know how to, or who can, get them right.

When we had my late father-in-law’s ‘69 911, the old 901/50 box in it was really finicky. You had to be very deliberate with every shift, up or down. 5th gear was the easiest to find and engage, by far, but you could not rush the gear change at all. And this was a car my FIL autocrossed in SCCA Street Prepared class

We’ve got a similar utility style Polaris Ranger 6x6 that we use to haul camping/hunting gear in (and sometimes moose or caribou out); they’re definitely workhorses. The dump bed is great for moving dirt/gravel/firewood and they’ll climb stupid, stupid steep grades. The extra track length is also nice to prevent high

Not knocking your preference, just saying that I like that it’s NOT a 308. Ferrari’s are too basic for me.

the original wheels and exhaust are included”

Trophy trucks are cool, they make loud noises, they go fast, and they jump shit, which is rad as hell and I like it. Sue me.

It’s a strong indication of how much contempt Republicans have for the American voting public that they continue to claim that moderate Democrats are “socialists”. No one who has any understanding of actual socialism could make that claim with a straight face.

Because the wealthiest sectors of society continue to make billions off the backs of everyone else, while constantly saying “well you should have known better.” It’s not sustainable, and when it falls apart, it’s going to hurt everyone.

At least it wasn’t a slideshow!

I think the takeaway is “blatant insider trading but we are dancing around it for fun joke.”

Not sure I see a need to make this a bigger deal than it has already become. They put out a bad joke, got called out, then made what seems like a honest and open apology that appears sincere.

Thank god I am not your friend.

The issue with longer loans is the part where you get upside down on the loan, and the longer the loan the longer you’re upside down. So 0% is great, but if in a year something happens and you need to sell your car, it’s worth less than what you owe on the loan.

But you can’t even overnight the parts.

You really think any old VW is going to burn someone worse than commuting in an antique truck on Chicago roads in the winter?

realistically Nürburgring lap times are totally pointless anyway and add no meaning or value to a car
