I’m hypothesizing it would actually be harder to do this in real life. In the video game, there are all kinds of data points that are sort of made up that computer takes into account when determining what goes through your steering wheel, and I wonder if the car computer has that amount of information available.

Feels like people vote “would I buy this for the money” versus “this is a good price for the car”. We need a realignment of what the purpose is for NP/ND.

I know it’s surprising! It’s a fairly specific anecdote to make up though if it didn’t happen. I can’t think of any particular reason why it would have done that - it was normal warm asphalt, and the car was running great. Maybe the tune it had cut some power in first gear?

Not the person you were replying to, but have experience driving some fast cars, including my dad’s gen 4 viper. There isn’t a one size fits all answer to how to correct oversteer, but generally being smooth and turning into the slide (turning left if the car is sliding and pointing to the right) will keep you from

Had to be something wrong with that particular porsche. I’ve driven thousands of miles in my dad’s 86 carerra and the 915 gearbox is nothing like OP described. It’s definitely finicky and unforgiving, has no synchro on first gear, and has a long throw, but it’s extremely satisfying to shift well. Having lots of slop

AWD one hits close to home. I got my finance’s HR-V stuck in the snow. I thought I was still in my old WRX and was being silly. Seriously what’s the point of AWD if it can’t power all the wheels when you really need it?

Right. If it was a bucket that you could easily pull out, people would most definitely steal them. Sounds like it needs a plug at the bottom you drain and rinse out. Definitely not worth the effort haha.

Yeah I see the squeegees pretty much everywhere. Unfortunately they are absolutely filthy. I wonder how often they change the fluid and wash the wipers...

Why is it pointless over the kitchen counter? It’s not like you need the head room sitting in a chair or lying in bed. While washing dishes or prepping dinner wouldn’t that be exactly where you want the height?

True, but what do you propose for a city like Houston? Obviously we can’t knock it down and start from scratch. Although it definitely is a patch for deeper problems, I like subsidizing last mile transportation. Scooters and bike share systems are awesome for getting around after the light rail stop.

What kind of viper? My dad had a gen 4 for a while that I drove a ton and after seeing Chris Harris fawn over the gen V ACR I feel like it reaffirmed what I loved it about it. Ironically my dad also has a modified 86 carrera so I can definitely appreciate what makes a 911 great too.

Kinda weird that you’d modify a car that extensively when you don’t even fit in it right. Like don’t you think he’d go and drive it and be like oh man I don’t fit in this, maybe I won’t buy it.

Definitely has to be Loveland Pass in CO. It’s pretty wild in good weather, but I thought it was a good idea to drive over it coming back from A Basin in a whiteout. Road covered in snow, and wind created a whiteout so bad I literally had to stop in the middle of the road and just wait it out.

I’ve heard people say this quite a bit, but wouldn’t it be pretty obvious if it makes an outbound dial and it connects? If the number doesn’t belong to a person, why would it ring at all?

He’s furious that the same senators whom grandstand about the heroes of 9/11 use them politically to get their other bills passed. Instead of just passing the 9/11 first responders’ fund, they package it with a controversial bill.

:(

Also the last RS with a stick shift so far right?

Look obviously the process needs to change, but it’s incredibly ignorant to ask “why should I give them free profit for doing literally nothing at all?”

Even just the risk of them having inventory is “doing something”. Car manufacturers currently push whatever cars they want on dealership and require them to take a

This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read. Does WalMart “do” anything? What do you pay for that has no markup at all?

Would you be okay paying more for a car company to install a network of stores to sell you the car? Would you be okay not having a place to test drive the car before you buy it since they can’t
