I think part of it is that it costs a lot less to manufacture smooth parts. Door panels with crazy lines require special machines and skill. Not totally sure but I think it’s one theory I’ve heard.

Yep it’s true. Been to C+C before and it’s hard not to goose it on the way out. I’ve done burnouts before and have certainly had to make corrections to keep the car straight but never had this happen. Watching these fuck ups definitely keeps me restrained.

I love the lights on my 2008 GTI. The low beams are sharp and I have them purposely pointed down farther than normal not to blind people but the high beams cast a beautiful wide flood of light. It’s fantastic.

Surprisingly it was the transmission and driveline that was the biggest weak link. I can’t imagine that little block can handle that power for too long but *gulp* is right...

I’m always curious who pays for this. Are there sponsors that fund the whole thing? Is it a team? Does a shop pay for it? Who bought the car? Is there any money to be made in something like this?
