My god, that’s incredible, I can’t believe that’s an actual chain.

Ever heard of the Alfasud? Basically what those things did to themselves with rust over time.

I think racing is worth it, in the same way I think small-scale potters are worth it. My gut says the EPA agrees...

Trying real hard for the “offend purists” bit, are we? The 924 is the only car a Porsche purist could care less about.

Bad design knows no level of income.

They can get even uglier? Dear god.

Still trying 7 years later to figure out who at Pininfarina signed off on this ungainly shit.

I don’t think it’s out of whack to expect that your anecdotal experience differs from what the new car sales data would say, assuming the data is correct, simply because new car sales make up a fraction of the percentage of total cars on the road. As such, patterns in new car sales might be harder to see or are likely

I’m generally inclined to agree with you, but while your number about total sales is technically correct, your numbers about growth appear to be a bit off. Midsized SUV and Small Crossover sales growth is off the charts in Europe, currently. Weighted average growth between the two crossover segments was 27.81%,

You’ll pay the same price for a V70R, but it’ll run half as often as the 740 will.

You’re on crack if you vote CP for a fully-sorted 740 V8 swap with a solid crate motor and FUNCTIONING GODDAMNED A/C. Yes, this is a 6-7k car, if it’s in the state that most of these projects are in. This one, as it’s described at least, is fully sorted, and that’s absolutely worth a $3k premium over other 740

When did I ever suggest they’re lacking? What I’m suggesting is that tire failures happen, despite what F1 fans want to believe.

Pirelli can’t rectify those issues because they’re under a directive from the governing body to make tires with those issues. It’s the reason that Michelin didn’t even submit a bid this last year to return as a tire manufacturer. It’s insane to think that Pirelli is completely incapable of making a durable, push-able

We’re not talking engineering vs. accounting here. Failures happen, especially given how limited Pirelli’s testing capabilities have (prescriptively) been, which is my point.

Will this perhaps shut up F1's Pirelli detractors who act like Michelin is the only manufacturer who can make a “proper” tire and use the exploding Pirellis from a few years back as one of their primary sources of evidence?

The voting here is ridiculous, especially given the usual pessimism exhibited by readers of NPOCP. He’s asking a near-perfect price, and but there are just enough things (HVAC being the utmost; these things are all about comfort and only about comfort, and that’s maybe the most important part of that equation) that
