At what point do they just stop running the race?

Absolutely the right way to teach in, in my mind, just not a criticism I’m going to lobby at someone who makes their living in the seat of a race car.

Do you want to talk about the difference in actual content between an ‘85 GT and a ‘15? It’s at the very least $15k more car, maybe more.

It’s still how it’s taught at the entry level today, from my experiences in HPDEs, but it’s not something I’d expect a racing driver to adhere to in-race.

Mark Donahue’s book talks in detail about the “European” style that Sir Jacky preaches (brake in a straight line and only in a straight line, turn in, and don’t apply throttle until you’re out of the corner) and, in not quite so many words, essentially calls it outdated. It’s especially true in anything with any

Winner, winner.

I know he looked at Deltas when he bought the R32, but seem to recall he had trouble finding good examples.

Mounted. It has two built-in C-Clamps on the bottom side that will clamp onto just about any horizontal surface that fits in the clamps, it’s basically designed to clamp onto a computer desk. I’ll even sit at my kitchen table sometimes.

Twitter or email list is probably the best place to see the promotional stuff, maybe Facebook.

I think in the end the differences won’t really be all that appreciable, especially given that you’re talking about the three premier sims out there (not to mention the quality of some of the better rFactor mods). My only complaint is that Assetto Corsa tracks have tended to sometimes be a bit too ‘clean’ to me,

You’ll get a lot of answers on that, but I like Fanatec’s equipment when I’ve had the chance to sample it. Pricey, but so is the high quality Thrustmaster and Logitech stuff.

They’re also launching an entire new backend to the site with this update as well, which isn’t helping.

Great thing about iRacing is that it absolutely trades some graphics quality for quality of physics and ability to play on non-top tier machinery. I can play on my little Asus ultrabook with a core i3, 8gb of ram, and an integrated Intel HD graphics card and it runs well enough to race. A very mild desktop build

I’ve no doubt that Assetto Corsa’s will be prettier, but given the huge effects of the subtle differences in their physics engines, I’d expect the subtle differences in iRacing’s rendition to produce a similarly superior end product.

Pick up a used Logitech DFGT, man. I’m telling you, it’s worth it. Forza and Gran Turismo are games, but iRacing really is a sim much more than it is a game. And I think that’s most evident in the fact that, while the graphics are perfectly fine in iRacing, they’re nowhere near as good as they are in either of the

Dude. You are still missing the point by a mile and a half. Finding something to be interesting and awesome because it’s visibly technically innovative is entirely different from finding something to be purely aesthetically pleasing. I understand that there is a certain allure to how this car looks because of its

Yeah, but AP Stylebook also sanctions the use of apostrophes to pluralize, so everything they’ve ever said or done is invalid.

How about in a Miata?

Without taking the time to go peruse AlfaBB, I’d hazard a guess that there’s a solid driver of 105/115 out there that has enough sill rust to drop it to $15k.

Plenty easy in the US. There are very few US Alfas that wouldn’t come in under the budget, and I bet you could manage to fit a (rusty) 105/115 series car in under budget, just barely.
