For a nearly $100k all in there are much more interesting options that don’t require assembly.
Turbo engines and high revving small v8s are very different animals. If you want one, you probably wouldn’t want to settle for the other. But personally, I think a quick revving small displacement v6 sounds like a good fit for the brz.
Ceramics will squeal like this if they’re cold, right? Maybe the brakes are just to aggressive for road driving.
Order of V8 swaps I’d do on my FR-S:
1. THIS!!!!!!
2. 1UZ, because mad tyte jdm yooo!!!
3. LS
Realistically, I’d do a 1UZ since I will likely never be able to afford the Synergy swap. haha
Turn your sound up.
I think it was designed like this on purpose, they didn’t want to create something faster than the WRX/STi. Just like how Porsche detunes the Cayman.
My ears! And stay on your side of the road!
If the 11.600 RPM redline isn’t a good enough reason, I don’t know what is.
Those brakes, though....
There’s no logical reason to do this instead of an LS swap and that’s what makes it perfect. I need this.
The amazing number of swaps I see in these relatively new cars are a testament to how good the chassis is....but I feel it shows how hopeless the engine is, as well.
The weird thing is that technically that temp plate is not legal in MA. They don’t recognize temp plates from other jurisdictions, and they do not issue any in the state at all. But I have only ever heard of one person who got hassled for it, and I am pretty sure he mouthed off to the cop...
Well aren’t you some sort of freak
I regestered two out of state cars in California in 1998. I had to pay a smog impact fee of $300 each because they weren’t “Californian cars” even though they were required by law to pass a smog test (and they did). Fast forward three years and a class action lawsuit against the state, I got a check from the State of…
Do you live in one of those square states where cows outnumber people?
Yeah, but it doesn’t taste right.
I got pulled over, cop asked for my registration, and I gave him my expired one (I lost the renewed one I got like two months ago, idk how). He said why don’t you have a renewed one, I said I lost it, he said why haven’t you gone to the DMV to get a replacement, and I was like...you know exactly why. He agreed, and we…
I don’t know what was the bigger fail in that last story, the Nevada DMV or the fact that a DeLorean is actually someone’s “dream car.”
Wait, wait, there’s a “New” Mexico?
