Yes and no. You’re right in that hearts and minds aren’t going to be swayed at this point. People are either voting for or against Trump. Anyone who’s “undecided” at this point is either living under a rock or is tacitly admitting they’ve just stopped giving a damn.

As long as Biden doesn’t break his promise to nominate a woman for VP (which would be a PR nightmare), I can’t imagine him picking anyone catastrophically bad enough to sink his chances of winning.

Yeah, it comes down to doing what it takes to get by. Is he just going to flip a switch after being out of school for 30+ years, in a largely non-technical career, and magically become a chemical engineer or database administrator in 6 weeks. But if you know that your old career isn’t coming back online anytime soon,

If this administration’s worst ethics violation was hawking shitty Latinx canned and boxed goods full of salt, sugar and MSG, we wouldn’t be in half the mess we’re in now.

“Ugh!  Can’t you travel agents and bartenders just like, code or something instead?”

Go big or go home, I guess. Can’t imagine a scorched earth presidential campaign would be effective. But then again, in 2015, I didn’t think America could *possibly* be stupid enough to let Donald Trump become the Republican presidential nominee - much less actually win the election. So...who the hell knows?

We can only hope Walmart isn’t using their greeters for double duty as mask bouncers. A 90 year old in a Rascal isn’t going to stand a chance against an angry covidiot in a pushing/shoving match about wearing a mask, no matter how much of a badass he was when he fought in Korea.

One word: Trekkies.

So, basically...if you have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime, there’s no reason to consider subscribing to Peacock until the 2021 Olympics roll around. Unless maybe you’re a huge English soccer fan.

It could be applied to a lot of other “it seemed like a good idea at the time” decisions - eating half a large pizza in one sitting, staying up playing video games until 2:30 in the morning when you know full well you need to be up for work at 7:30, attempting to stay friends with an ex when there’s no kid or business

Strange...I still view a lot of the people I get into arguments with in person as “mindless” and not particularly capable human beings.

I usually try not to wish other people ill, but seeing Moscow Mitch on a ventilator with the ‘Rona would give me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

You just gotta hang on for six more months, RBG!!!

If their going to choke out the stream of H1Bs, industry needs a new boogeyman to keep domestic wages low. It’ll just end up being that you have to accept lower compensation because of a career-changer fresh out of school who’s desperate to start working again instead of a disposable guy from India with a master’s

They’re “finding something new” by making the expectations for entry-level white collar jobs even more unrealistic for the mediocre compensation and limited advancement opportunity.  Winning!

Nobody says it’ll be an either/or thing. They’re not talking about nationalizing the big telecoms.

Feel free to pass on this link to a story that ran on a local CW affiliate station in Cleveland (near where he lived) if you encounter anyone claiming that Mr. Rose was not actually a real person who both posted those things and died of COVID-19:

Once even Texas and Mississippi have decided to mandate that residents wear masks in public, it’s hard to rationalize fighting that battle any longer. I mean, it was a stupid battle to start with. But when you’re further behind the curve than Mississippi, you really have to question the choices you’re making.

That like trying to take solace in the idea that at least the infected aren’t hemorrhaging out of their eyes or turning into zombies.  It’s really...not that comforting.

I’ve heard that there’s some weird copyright issues with the original Muppet Babies cartoon from the 80s, which is why it was never released on video or DVD. Likely still jamming things up in streaming.
