I just searched Google for a coherent bio of her to check, and it was such an atrocious rabbit hole of conservative online rage that I lost the motivation to keep looking after looking a the first few results.

Yeah, being outside during the day is brutal. Makes me wonder why anyone ever considered living here before AC was widely available.

That sounds awful. Best of luck - stay cool however you can!

On one hand...seeing this happen up north definitely feels like an aberration and a harbinger of horrible things to come.

Having cut the Trump supporters out of my life that I have any choice in the matter on, and having reduced my connections to the ones I physically cannot avoid to brief transactional interactions...I’ve found that my life has gotten noticeably less frustrating and stressful on a personal level.

He doesn’t have to be an unbeatable force, or some kind of pharaoh god-king. He just has to get more votes across the Deep South, Midwest and a few purple swing states than whoever ends up on the Democratic ticket. The electoral college is unfortunately still on his side. Just like 2016, 2020 is going to come down to

The “storm Area 51” meme is good for a chuckle, but honestly...Area 51 has been bounced around the conspiracy theorist crowd for what, 30 years now? If there were any aliens or downed spacecraft, they’ve long since been moved to secret facilities that are actually still secret.

My apologies. It’s hard to approximate very dry humor vs legitimately insane gun nut logic, especially online.

Don’t be pedantic. Whether the bullet stays in someone or cuts a nice, clean hole in them (or a big, jagged crater) that they bleed out through...being shot and the related complications is what killed them.

Politics makes strange bedfellows. For the longest time, New Balance were the good guys, making at least some attempt to keep their manufacturing (or at least assembly) here in the US. But then they went all Trumpy and became the official footwear of the alt-right. And vice versa, Nike spent a couple decades as a

Sadly, I’m afraid there’s a grain of truth in his tweet. This economic boom is almost all smoke and mirrors. Once the fed stops juicing the economy with artificially low interest rates and taxes shift back to a more sustainable level, things are going to get unpleasant very quickly.

Seeing as how most of the stuff on sale on Prime Day is off-brand garbage that you’d never consider buying when it’s not Prime Day, it shouldn’t be that hard to sit the sale out.

Mother got a little rough with him, and they’re waiting for the visible bruises to heal.

So...he’s like Howard Schultz, but with worse name recognition and even less relevance (if such a thing is possible).

Ugh. Douche flutes.

If Epstein looks like he’s going to flip on Trump, you know full well he’ll get shanked in the shower with no witnesses, or manage to commit suicide under extremely questionable circumstances.

The ACA was a well-intentioned idea. The US healthcare system was completely out of control before it, and it was at least an attempt to make it less atrocious. But while it did expand a degree of access to a lot of people, it did very little to address the fundamental inequality and inefficiency of the whole system.

If God’s going to give you specific instructions, I have a hard time believing they would involve running for president of the United States.

Just trying to wrap my brain around the inconsistency of that sign hurts.

Their ad people probably realized that if they included much more detail about what exactly he’s doing “a great job” on, the ad would go from simply lacking credibility/substance to being outright absurd (and quite possibly offensive to the very people they’re trying to appeal to).
