I’m sorry to be That Person, but the show aired for nine seasons, not ten.

I feel you. I am the same way. I’m a pro at flying, but I loathe it.

This. And it’s actually a really good book! Yes, I find whaling deplorable, but it was a fascinating read (and won the National Book Award in 2001, if memory serves).

Is it weird that I just don’t care about the subject this time around? Like, when I heard what it was about, my reaction was very ho-hum.

I know, right? Just what I’ve always wanted.

For real. Have you ever seen a university library during finals week? It gets colonized. Lots of coffee-makers. And blankets. The crockpot is a new one to me, though.

Oh my god, “Tony Chalupa.” I’m dying.

Little more than an hour later, looks like it’s been deleted. Thanks to saints of the internet like you for keeping the record.

Same! Thank you for this piece. It so perfectly captures the befuddling and yet very important feelings I had about this movie as a 10-year-old.

Right, or like, take to Craigslist, man? Especially for kittens, it’s pretty easy to find homes. That’s how I got both of my cats (who are sleeping and purring next to me right now): Craigslist and a flyer, respectively.

Seriously. This is the most WTF headline I’ve seen in a while. I just... what?

For real. It’s the same deal with race: throw too many black people in there, and it’s a no longer a movie for everyone, but a movie “for black people,” and so on, and so forth. White + male is the default and it blows.

Start doing regular, short drives just around town with the cat, to get them used to the idea that a) a drive doesn’t mean anything bad happens to them, and b) driving is “normal.”

My S.O. and I have been together for 8 years now, but for this reason exactly, I always make sure we take some family photos with S.O.s, and some without. It helps that I’m usually the camera-wielder, so I can dictate who’s in each shot. I do this whether I’m with my family or his. That way, we all have mementos that

Ugh, I miss it so much. My new home (Seattle) is nice, but I dream of Maine.

Not anymore. I lived in Portland until very recently, and there is no LL Bean store in town now—everything’s in Freeport.

LibraryThing.com, which originated for cataloging books, offers the ability to catalog your movies, music, other media, etc. now.

No joke, I’ve seen people read that bird’s name and call it a “casserole.”
