I was thinking something similar, but slightly different. Like, maybe people who have the desire to follow celebrity pregnancies and compare themselves are more likely to be focused on the how it makes you look as opposed to the baby. Or maybe people who tend to be more self-critical in general are more likely to

My cousin just had her second and she was lamenting that she didn't look like beyonce yet. And I told her look if you had three nannies, two housekeepers, a personal assistant, trainer, and a personal chef. You would look like that too. But you do shit and have a job. Chill it's really not that serious.

...that pregnant women who more closely follow pregnant celebrities, along with other factors, were more likely to have body image issues and stress regarding weight gain...

seems pretty logical. self-objectification will undoubtedly psychologically separate oneself from the human inside their belly as you are seeing them as a "bump" and not a baby.

I'm starting to think Lena would rather die than have a flattering haircut.

Except they don't actually teach history. True history is multi-disciplinary and isn't strictly limited to "name the battle that changed X" or "name the guy who did Y, and where was he from?". Knowing WHAT without knowing WHY is entirely useless. I blame the influence of the geographers. While they're a perfectly

I went to a very poor high school (that's ambiguous so let me say it mostly applied in both senses) but we did learn how to apply for a job and basic money management. And, weirdly, basic economics. The teacher was one of the good ones at the school, too.

Isn't that illegal? Aren't passports the property of the government?

I posted this in accidental reply below, but I meant to reply to you. It looks like someone else linked to the same article, but I thought I'd still reply to you in case you didn't see it.

My city (Edmonton) has this, it's called the Green Shack program. Basically they set up a shack with educational/play supplies and have one or two recreation leaders there to play games and semi-supervise the kids at playgrounds around the city. My siblings and I sometimes played there growing up, and I always thought

I'm white, but my kid's best friend in our neighborhood is black, and she's the same age with similar rules and their family hasn't had trouble either that I know of. I honestly think it's more of a poverty/class thing at work here, with of course the obvious stipulation that the poor in America's cities (which is

I must be the only one who remembers mom taking away a bowl of cheerios and saying, "Run out and play, be back before dark."

You'd think with that many kids and the women not working they could have vegetable gardens or something at least.
