I’m actually getting bored of it now. The evenings at home in’t countryside are lovely but London is stinky, sweaty and the air’s like breathing soup

It sucks to feel like that - but it’s a feeling, not a fact. Your job and the people who’ve experienced your wit and kindness would miss you. The world needs kindness - stick with us please. And I would love to see your favourite wildlife photo

🤢

I’m moving there too (escaping Brexit and terrible British weather). Glad to hear a positive report!

I’m so so sorry- internet hugs from a random stranger who lost their father overnight 16 years ago.

I’m too late and in the wrong time zone but I’m so happy about my weekend upstairs loo

Your gingerbread recipe sounds gorgeous- do you grate the fresh ginger in?

Many years ago a schoolfriend’s parents came up with the 2 tokens for the bar idea for her 18th. I ordered 2 quadruple vodkas. Didn’t end well.

Given that in Islam the Virgin Mary is a figure of veneration

“Do we get a bank holiday?” Was everyone’s response at my work today. Romantics that we are!

Mine are just the same! Rather beautiful as long as you’re not driving at the time...

Recipe please!! I love falafel but can’t eat chickpeas so sounds like ta’amiya would make my life complete

If you’re carnivorous buy a mincer - makes food go so far

I’m very excited about this as I live in the village she spent her last years in. Which I didn’t believe when the guys down the pub first told me. The house is gorgeous- wonder if it’ll feature?

This sounds great! I’ve ordered it from Amazon and am excited to have found a 1959 2nd hand copy. Will be able to imagine the original owner reading it and think about how her reactions and mine would differ / align. Might make it my next book club suggestion.

Starred for orb-weighted flappy sack which has a very pleasant rhythm. I may find myself muttering it in tomorrow’s endless meeting

I love the registered partners bit - we would have done that years before it took us to get married I think . Would have taken a lot of pressure off

16 years together, 7 years married at end of this month. Spent this evening talking about how good we are together. I’m his 2nd, he’s kind of mine (11 year unmarried relationship ended 4 months before we met). Not sure we prove anything other than it’s always worth seeing who’s out there and giving it a try...

Ooh an excuse to share a very random thing: I was looking for a wine tour on Etna and came across this. No caption or anything - Mr B asked how I knew who it was (as we are olds) and I said Jezebel!
