Are we missing something? I think every car I’ve owned since....2002? has had this feature, even the ‘21 Corolla penalty-box rental I’m in at the moment. As long as you’re not a ham-fisted moron, it’s fairly easy to adjust windows to your liking without engaging the auto down/up feature.

The tow company said that we could not ride in the truck, so we had to book an Uber.

Given that a locksmith can program a replacement in about 30 seconds for $150, probably not much.

Snorkels are a valuable commodity here in the southeastern US at the moment. I briefly considered canoeing to work today.

No one bought second-hand furniture in the 50s-60s-70s because you kept the furniture you bought when you got married and bought your first house until you died.

It is absolutely nuts out there. My 2020 4Runner was hit a couple of weeks ago and, based on the amount of damage (airbags deployed, apparent frame damage from the estimate), I figured it was totaled. I started the shopping process for a replacement at a local Ford dealer; I was interested in the Bronco and Mustang

Fuck me.

Clearly you’ve never sat in stop-and-go traffic on a July afternoon behind a garbage truck south of the Mason-Dixon line.

I have a Tesla that I really enjoy and agree this is awful.

Conversely, my first car was a ‘93 Explorer and it had...an 85 mph speedo.

This is what happened with my Jetta GLI. The sales guy found a matching configuration in the build list and essentially claimed it for me. It took...two weeks, I think, including transportation from MX to Atlanta.

I mentioned this in an earlier thread, but of the new vehicles I’ve bought in my life, I’ve never had a problem ordering what I wanted if something to my tastes isn’t on the lot (Ford and VWx2. Tesla that’s the only way you can get them). I’ve bought two Toyotas off the lot, but they had exactly what I wanted. It took

After all, if she’s put in jail/prison, the state would be responsible for her medical care.

Excellent!

Good catch. I read it as the car seat separated from the base and was floating on its back until the child’s motions flipped it over, causing her to be face down in the water.

1. This man is a damn hero.

Fuck Sinclair.

Ah, I see what you were saying.

Alaska and Hawaii aren’t “overseas departments.” They are states, no different than Texas and Delaware and Georgia.

My first car in HS (1997) was used. Every other car since (VW x2, Ford, BMW, Tesla) has been special ordered, except for my 4Runner—the dealer had exactly what I wanted on the lot.
