I live in an area with a lot of deer ticks. I don’t wear permethrin clothing because of toxicity concerns. I wear picaridin based repellent for mosquitoes and black flies - but it seems to work on ticks as well. I use permethrin to make tick tubes - but with protective gear on. BTW, cheapest way to buy it is in much

That’s the point of tick twisters. You want them to release cleanly. No barfing under your skin, no bits left behind to fester. I’ve been using them for 5+ years with good results.

I had a clutch cable snap in the middle of a snow storm in NJ. Pretty sure it was Cherry Hill. I was on two wheels, on my way from Boston to Daytona for the races and was pretty lost on my way to a place to stay for the night.

Time to combat the “fake media” meme with a “fake president” one?

We have something similar in Cambridge, MA, (Mem drive underpass near MIT) but it’s heavy rubber (like truck flap material) with what looks like several cow bells attached to the rear.

I’ve been following this in the Washington Post. Notice how most of the good stuff shows up there first? You can get a subscription for 6 months for free if you’ve got Amazon Prime, and at a pretty decent monthly rate after that. Also there’s mentions of it being free for students / folks with a .edu email address.

Worst I’ve ever done on two wheels was to grab a sneakered foot sticking out a passenger side window and give it a little shake. My friends who saw it said that afterwards, the teen was getting a lecture from the female driver (presumably his mom).

Check out clustr.com. People have to upload, but there are iOS/Android apps as well as a website for desktop usage.

Ages ago, I worked in a motorcycle shop. Speed dependent oscillation happens on some two wheeled vehicles as well. Yep, speeding up (or down) stops the oscillation.

Perfect roast chicken (requires remote thermometer, 12" CI pan)

Fortunately the shooter in this case appeared to have little to no firearms familiarity as he fired off a lot of rounds with very limited injuries/fatalities.

I don’t live somewhere where that’s true - but it might be worth trying some of those. Have you tried any? Anything tasty and dark in a 3.2?

It’s 3.2% alcohol. I think regular beer ranges from 4% to 6%, Belgian beer is 6-ish to 10-ish.

Have you ever encountered a non-alcoholic beer or wine that is actually worth drinking? I have not.

This is Foxtrot Alpha, where military ‘stuff’ gets discussed. An attack on our election system is, IMO (and a bunch of other Os) essentially an act of war. A casus belli is about as military as it gets.

Just yesterday, I was in the local H-Mart produce section looking at jackfruit. They’re big, smallest one was maybe 20-25 lbs, shaped a bit like watermelon, but with a skin that looks a bit like pineapple. I was wondering what the hell you do with jackfruit.

Though it’s unlikely that Comey will testify about details of the FBI’s ongoing investigation of possible collusion

In other parts of the world, it’s a not-uncommon way for relatively poor people who care for rich people’s things to refer to themselves. For instance, in New Zealand, people who do housecleaning on multi-million dollar yachts (AKA “white boats”) describe what they do as “Oh, I’m a boat ni—er”. I’ve heard it from

They’re doing that now. In the planet warming sense. We may have already passed a tipping point.

I think ‘covfefe’ is going to move into the lexicon, along with ‘bork’ and ‘santorum’
