How hard is it to put the power down? I have a 2013 (with 662hp) and the live-rear-axle makes it scary to try and put the power down (any imperfection in the road will get the axle all loosey goosey).

Any word on if/when the US is adopting those standards? I’d be willing to bet it never happens thanks to lobbying and what not but it would be cool if it replaced the EPA city/highway system.

I’m also 6'6'’ and my favorite vehicles (with plenty of room) are my Subaru WRX STI (2010) and my Ford Raptor (first gen). My X5 is also pretty comfortable but it’s no where near as spacious headroom-wise as the STI or Raptor.

One thing to point out is that this same vehicle (serial number 48) just showed up in Mecum’s catalog for their Monterey sale next month.

So according to Mecum’s website, it sold for a crazy $1.815m (!?!). I guess there was a lot of pent up demand.

Oh absolutely. It was a good car while I had it but I have automotive ADD and got something else after about 7 months.

I actually had a Crown Vic for DD commuting duties that I used as an Uber car on the side. Did really well but after the 100th person makes a joke about it being a cop car, you start to get a little annoyed.

Hoovie just got one for $2,100 but this still has to be a nice price for something that’ll last until the end of the world.

Great write up. Reminds me of when I had a Toyota diesel wagon and drove from Amsterdam to the Nurburgring and about a thousand miles in between.

I voted NP because I wish my 2009 CLS 63 AMG was this cheap...

What’s his daily driver?

Doesn’t matter to me as long as I can turn them on and not have to turn them off when I get out. I always drive with my lights on and if I don’t have to turn them on/off each time I get in and out that’s the best.

I believe this was the one I saw at Cat’s Exotics in Lynnwood (Seattle), WA a couple of years ago. If I remember, Roy was asking $100k for it and it was on the lot for a fair amount of time.

WTF Kinja.....

I just picked up a used BMW X5 35d and love the torque and economy. I would mortgage everything in a heartbeat to get this if it were to come to the US. I know it won’t but I’m insanely jelly.

Username checks out.

Lol I bought a P71 and used it to Uber/Lyft for a while. Was fun and reasonably cheap but damn i sure got tired of people making jokes about it being an ex cop car.

This sucks. I’m supposed to be in Berlin for New Years. Please don’t let this be terrorism. Please.

I have an STS-V too! I went into Advanced Auto Parts the other day and the guy was convinced I had a CTS-V and didn’t know what I was talking about.

$500 is too cheap not to buy it. Would be fun and if it didn’t work just burn it and throw the video on youtube. You’ll make your money back in views...
