More than likely it’s not actually dead, and as usual the writers here are jumping to conclusions. It’s made in China as well, and I suspect that it will continue to be, with low-volume imports to the United States.

There was a time when the “ultimate” car was more advanced than the cars we could purchase. They were difficult to drive, and had no electronic assistant of any kind.

There are tons of regulations for building a car and I’m sure alot of this crap (symmetry probably not) is due to government requirements. If they could make a box with a bed (which is what autonomous cars are all about) they would.

Bill Wise is no slouch at racing. He also has his own team (BnR Racing) and competes in Formula 2000 and Continental series.

Keep in mind this lap was supposedly with engineer Bill Wise, not a German Nurburgring pro. So there may be some time left on the table.

I really can’t wait to see this thing at Lightning Lap or Best Drivers Car, a lot less driver bias and cheating going on there.

Where did you get 1:13.117 from? This was the 1:12.178 lap that he set for pole in Q3.

That car is running an insane amount of aero for a “road car”. There are many spots on the Nordschleife that really tell you what the balance of aero vs mechanical grip is:

This is a pretty good lap, and much more believable than the one posted by Lamborghini for the Performanti.
I am also eagerly awaiting the lap time for the new ZL1 1LE, which should be in the same neighborhood (below 7:20 at least).
