I understand cars are practically necessary outside of very urban areas. BUT, when I rarely see the cheapest cars sold driving around and I DO see pickups, SUVs and large sedans aplenty, I wonder how much of this debt is necessary versus people making unwise purchasing decisions.

I expect Amazon is investing so that one day their deliveries can be made with EVs, and maybe even autonomous EVs. This gets them the tech that they want to do that on their own.

It appears that Toyota Japan does not sell the 5.7 in the Land Cruiser. Only the 4.6 which is, indeed, built in Japan according to this Truck Trend article.
