Obligatory:

Have you ever been in a wreck, had a sudden injury, or had anything dramatic happen to you? I’ll tell you that at least one type of normal reaction is to get the fuck away from the danger and/or carry on like it didn’t happen (sometimes, your priorities in the face of a near-miss with death can be surprisingly

Not so dramatic as that—Max is just a petulant bully and this is how that type acts. It’s more like: “Wah, I’m grabbing what I want and if you don’t let me have it, I’ll hit you!” than anything nefarious. He’s the worst kind of bully, too—the kind that never admits being wrong and whines and plays victim when someone

I mean yeah, definitely Max’s fault. Lewis wasn’t giving him an inch, and this, to me, plays exactly like the Silverstone incident, reversed. 3 place grid penalty seems harsh, I would probably do 2, but I’m also not an FIA steward and my whole reasoning is it falls closer to what I believe to have been a relaxed

Max was wrong, He expected the car that had the line to just move over because he wanted to lead. WRONG, and I do not like Hamilton or MB

I think Max drove the way he always drove and Lewis, knowing his chances at the championship are slipping away, didn’t back off.

You keep saying that, but that’s not what the video shows

going for a gap the exists... that’s the key. There was no gap other than to drive over the curbs and get him later on. Max is a checkers player when Lewis is mostly a chess player.  And at times I believe Ayrton could pull of some truly dick moves too in the name of “the gap” and “going for it”.

Was Verstappen deserving of the penalty? I think Yes.

What the stewards need to do is sit Verstappen down in a room with a big TV and play the Turn 4 (lap 1) incident then play the Turn 1 incident and ask him, “What is the difference in these two incidents?” His answer will likely be that Lewis backed off in the first and ‘failed to’ in the second. They should then point

Blame Max. Max tried to stick a move and/or stick it to Lewis and it backfired. Damon Hill who I respect immensely and has been punted off a race course by none other than Michael Schumacher said in his opinion Max went for a move he was never going to be able to make and should have gone over the curbs but he sorta

I think this once again demonstrates a lack of maturity on Max’s part; especially the comment afterwards.

I think this was on Verstopper trying to push Hamilton wide when he realized he wasn’t going to be able to defend the corner. He was to far behind to take the line and Hamilton had more than half a car on him.

I like Max and dislike Lewis (the two statements may be related), so take what I say with that bias baked in. Today Max got off just as easy as Lewis in Silverstone. Both deserved harsher penalties. No way did Max have the corner or have the right to expect Lewis to back off. Dumb move by both drivers, but a lot more

Running laps doesn’t mean jack shit.

Track position, per the regulations.

Why? Max already had a lap on his tires. They were primed. So you let him pass and wait for yours to warm up? Why in the world would Lewis do that?

Right, it is hard to compare apples to apples, 10 second penalty at the start of a race puts you last, then again, middle of a race 10 seconds could put you anywhere from 1 to many places back depending on how tight everybody is packed up.  Either is a lot to overcome.

Yes, Max is mostly to blame. He was behind, all the time, until the crash. That’s what he does, playing chicken and expecting the other driver to give way. That’s not how you win WDC. In the exact same spot, in lap one, Lewis has been smarter.

Cause he was able to continue on and finished the race, he got a 10 second penalty.
