My experience:

They knew early enough in the development of the DPS6 that it wasn’t going to work, and could’ve launched with a version of their 6F. That makes it even worse. 

Correct. Why? Supposedly the dry clutch was worth an mpg or so. It also had wildly varying clutch disc friction and was the root cause of the issues. They knew almost 2 yrs before launch that they could not solve this with calibration, only band-aid it, but persisted on. They had time to fix it, and didn’t.

Ford could’ve spent 1/100th of this and brought the wet clutch version of the transmission here (or a conventional 6F35). But no, their executives were way too proud to admit a mistake and ended up with billions in warranty and customers who won’t buy a Ford again. Idiots. 

You will never convince them that their messiah had a hand in this. 

And if you saw the homes of a lot of them, you’d think that even more.

Care to explain how a inline 6 is taller than an inline 4 mounted transversely? Also, the CG will move rearwards since the transmission and most of the engine will be behind the front axle.

The 04-08 TL and TSX are GREAT cars.
