Yes, because diesels are load controlled, not throttle controlled, and run significantly leaner than stoich almost all the time except heavy load. You’re right on the pumping losses, but that’s not the only significant reason they’re more efficient.

If you designed engines, you’re certainly not showing it. Torque curve is more important when towing than peak. And when not towing, or hauling light loads, a diesel engine can run MUCH leaner than a gasoline engine.
You don’t seem to understand the benefits of the Diesel cycle wrt towning and partial load economy.
Well I’m not stupid. Take that however you want.
It isn’t wrong at all, and I rev my V8 to 7500-7800 rpm often. But it doesn’t need that to go merely quick-ish like the BRZ/86. A 2.4L NA with a half-decent torque curve would be a big improvement.
I loved everything about it except that you have to rev the snot out of it to go somewhat quickly. I test drove a few in 2012-2013 and it felt barely faster than my 2.4L manual Accord I owned then. In the midwest, one must have a car that is fun in a straight line, too, as our flat, grid roads suck. That car with a…
Not-too-old automotive engineer here: some level of poka yoke is just a good idea, and is crucial for consistent assembly at high volumes across multiple shifts. Poka yoke at the expense of product function or quality, no.
More importantly, that they didn’t make the tray/control subassembly to door panel interface such that it can only be assembled in the correct orientation. One would not want to make the wiring the restriction.
I have nothing to say other than I am so sorry you experienced that. That is utterly horrible.
Chris Harris to the answer in the below video. In short: with your shoulders on the seat back, adjust wheel/seat position so that you have a bend in your elbows and can put your wrist on the wheel.
Because people like that asshole don’t deserve the dignity of that response. Buzz giving them the time of day elevates their incredulous idiocy. They deserve a punch.
I finally heard a 718 in person the other day. It sounds like crap.
He ain’t like MJ, that’s for sure.
Get off my lawn.
Ok nanny state spokesperson.
Liked it fairly well until I saw the back. Icky/Odd looking.
It’s not. Ford is currently all in a tizzy by Rivian’s vehicles.
That is a Ford test vehicle.
Ford is currently in panic mode over Rivian. True story.
There is quite literally nothing he could do that would cause his base to turn on him, except for becoming Barack Obama.
