This question makes me think you’re straight, but apologies if you’re not. Queer representation is so important and still so limited, that having positive, amazing queer folks like Janelle being out and proud is incredible. She’s also used a lot of queer iconography, subtext, and then out-and-out “LOOK HOW QUEER I AM”

Bisexual means that too. Just about all the bi folks I know use “attracted to my gender and other genders” as their definition.

I would say emotional abuse includes controlling, manipulating, demeaning, humiliating, and gaslighting (making someone doubt their own reality/feel like they’re going “crazy”) another person. Yelling by itself isn’t necessarily abusive but it depends on the context (yelling because you’re afraid because your kid just

Easy-to-convict? This is the second trial. He has dozens of victims and has settled with multiples of them.

That’s ridiculous. If I were asked to do a lie detector test and was innocent I would be very nervous because I know the are unreliable, tend toward anxiety, and wouldn’t trust anyone who thinks a lie detector test is an appropriate tool in an investigation.

Farrow had plastic surgery and wears blue contacts. Which is fine, he gets to make his choices, but I gotta think he’s courting this kind of gossip.

So you will happily through survivors under the bus to win elections? How utterly Democratic of you.

It’s selfish to want to spend time with your partner?

This is gross, untrue, and harmful. Jesus christ.

Agreed whole-heartedly. But the flipside is that duder doesn’t see a problem with his behaviour, which means the letter writer needs to set some firm boundaries and follow through on them. Cause he’s not going change out of the goodness of his heart.

And her book likely wouldn’t have been finished if she weren’t married to him. It doesn’t in anyway downplay her tremendous work to include the work he did shepherding it into the world.

Oh shit, that’s terrible. The people I know who’ve done it didn’t seem to get beyond the first couple of creepy all-weekend-long high pressure courses so I don’t know the inner workings, though I have read about some deeply emotionally abusive stuff.

Ugh. He’s such a monster.

I’ve been a vegetarian for most of my life, so when customers would ask what meat dish I’d recommend I’d say “well, the butter chicken is the most popular” because what else can I say? I could lie and say I love the butter chicken, but that’s dumb.

And the bad future days too—his shitbag brother is running for premier of Ontario and spewing his anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ rhetoric all over the place.

The stories I’ve heard are all pretty standard high pressure sales techniques/low-level cult stuff but nothing like Nxivm. (Not that I would necessarily have any kind of inside track other than being low-key fascinated by cults.)

Subgroup. My understanding is that Nxivm is kind of a standard self-help cult (think Landmark) that is used to recruit certain women into DOS. I believe Nxivm is open to men as well and teaches bog standard self-help crap.

Huh? That is certainly not a definition of queer I’ve ever come across. Nor do I even really understand what you’re saying here.

A lot (most?) bisexual folks don’t subscribe to a binarizing definition like that, and instead define bisexuality as “attracted to my gender and other genders.”

I made ramen! I just kind of cleared out what was in my fridge in terms of veggies, but it was a good time.
