So, quick, not all that cool question, did Chris Pratt get work done on his face when he lost all that weight to become Action Star Chris Pratt or is it just that he squints all the time now?

Oh I see. You’re a “reverse racism” person. Cool, cool, cool. No thanks. Bye now.

Uh, yep. It quite obviously is my opinion. Other similar opinions of mine are that I want to avoid doing harm to people so when they tell me something I’m doing hurts I endeavour to stop. Just my opinion though.

Interesting. I’ve actually heard a compelling argument against that, which is that it’s primarily white people who DON’T change theirs to match their skin tone and it reflects how uncomfortable white people are with our whiteness being made explicit.

There is a difference between appreciation and appropriation, and if people are telling you that what you’re doing is harming them and their culture, maybe you should listen to them.

When white people are buying things from a white woman profiting off of things that represent your culture, yeah, it’s not great.

Yeah, it’s terrible! And they’re replacing the restaurant delivery drivers (though I hear it’s actually pretty bad for the restaurants too), so it’s nearly impossible to avoid them.

Door Dash and Skip the Dishes and all these other ones are quickly taking over the delivery business where I live, and Door Dash has a delivery fee, something like a $7 “help us run” fee, and then gives you space to tip. Where the fuck is all that money going if not to the driver?!

The problem, though, is that in the US, at least, tips shouldn’t be considered “rewards.” They are labour costs put directly on the customer, rather than being bundled in with the price of the food. Even when I have a shitty day at work I still make the same amount I always do, because my labour costs haven’t been put

As a woman, I don’t respond well to men asking to meet right away. It tells me, like your advice tells me, that they have no conception of the routine danger of meeting men. I am in no way concerned about meeting a serial killer online. They’re rare. Date rapists and other abusive men, though, are much less rare than

I loved this. More scathing book reviews, please!

Congrats! I hope it went well.

Weird! In retrospect it was so damn weird.

Oh man, yeah. I struggle with second-hand embarrassment.

Yeah. That was definitely a big sticking point for me too.

I feel like I should like this show but I’ve never been able to get past about 7 minutes of the first episode. Anyone out there love it now after not being able to get into it?

Totally. I think it’s also the idea that we all have the same amount to lose/gain by being out, which is obviously untrue.

When I worked at Starbucks, many years ago, I would occasionally get people who had written “Ask for photo ID” instead of signing it. On the off chance that I actually saw that, when I did ask for photo ID, they’d get super pissy about it.

Sorry, there were a lot of double negatives there. I was trying to say that me not being out, and using gender neutral language to refer to the people I date as a way to not lie but also not out myself, at work is not me being inauthentic (or failing to “live my truth”). It is authentically part of probably most if
