That seems to be an American thing. I was incredibly confused the first time I saw someone refer to ‘stomach flu’! How can you get a respiratory disease in your stomach??!

OMFG yes! My SIL believe she will get the flu from the flu shot and it drives me bananas. A cold is not the fucking flu!
You’d think.
And it’s even worse for women, becuase the female characters are often wearing skimpy/unsafe costumes, that the stunt women also have to wear, doubling their risks.
I’ve heard that srgument before and it’s utter bullshit. Not forgiving doesn’t get in the way of you finding peace, and forgiving certainly doesn’t bring peace (all it brings is a sense of relief to the person who comitted the wrong, who are now free to go do such shit again, because they’ve been ‘absolved’). I’ve had…
I wouldn’t believe everything the parents say...
But there were more than 1 bone scan, and they had conflicting ideas of age: at least one had her still as a child. And children can have their periods at age 8 (my great Aunt did). There is still doubt here.
Very, very much this.
We had the opportunity to move to America about 10 years ago for work, and didn’t even seriously consider going. The two main reasons were the lack of gun control (cops carrying side arms is bad enough, but civilians with guns is insane) and - top reason to say say No - the (lack of a) health care system. Add in the…
If I, as a cis woman, got drunk and smeared my menstrual blood on someone as a ‘joke’, would I also be OK to sit on the supreme court? After all, menstrual blood is even less harmful than a penis...
When I was at school (80's -90's) we had these teeny tiny short skirts to play hockey in (on grass, we’re not American). And we had to buy and wear matching granny panties underneath, as of course the *pleated* skirts flew every which way. And we were not allowed to play with anything else under our skirts - no bike…
Your Dad is fucking awesome :)
No, as I said, her being black isn’t the *cause* of the flack she’s getting, it would be just as bad if she were white. But like being fat, American, confident or middle class, it is something that can be used as a reason to pick at her.
Can I ask, are you American? I suspect this is the first time you’ve taken much notice of the royal family or how they’re reported on.
“On the other hand, there is an overwhelming stench of intent coming from this Richardson girl’s story. Skull fractures, possible scorching, hiding the pregnancy, freaking out when she found out about it... it all stinks.”
It really isn’t racial, although I understand how to Americans it would look that way. Diana and Kate got just as hard a time as Meghan; it’s just that theirs wasn’t broadcast quite as widely to the American press (because Americans didn’t care as much). And anyone marrying a ‘lesser’ royal would also get less press…
Thanks for the link, but I’d rather buy one in my country so we don’t have issues with it being locked to a different provider than the one I want to use, etc :)
I 100% agree with you about not buying kids smart phones: they don’t need them. But the problem is that dumb phones are hard to find, especially in the cheap price range. And while there’s no reason that a kid would *have* to ring their parents when away from home, I do like giving mine the opportunity to do so…
Yes. I’m a mother of 4 girls and they do all the things that “baby boys” seemingly do, from the mess to the chaos to the fart jokes to the talking about genitals.
Yeah, I agree. Hubby is also culpable. And if he was too drunk to drive (as she clearly was) he could have at the very least gone and sat in the car with the baby.
