Verstappen had a ton of room on his left. Lewis pulled the exact same pass on Leclerc later in the same race. Almost makes you wonder if Max was to blame.

If you watch the onboard, Lewis was turning into the corner as much as he could. Cold tires, full of fuel, and lacking downforce from dirty air, he understeered slightly. You can also see that he backs off the throttle in what is normally a flat outcorner, exactly the correct thing to do to correct understeer because…
Not a Hamilton fan, and that was a pretty fucked call.
You’ve left out one rather important piece of information in that Masi violated not one, but TWO regulations on that final lap. If any lapped cars are allowed through, the race is not to be restarted until the end of the following lap. If the rules were followed, the race would have ended under caution after those…
Ever think that maybe enforcement on bikes can be lower because the stakes are so much lower? Someone dying after getting hit by a bike is 1 in a million. Someone getting seriously injured after getting hit by a bike is 1 in a thousand. If a bike blows through a stop sign/red light what’s mostly gonna happen if…
And how would you suggest we pay for all this new stuff?
“I saw a cyclist run a stop sign once, therefore they deserve to be killed by bad drivers”
Be better drivers. Just waiting for the comments to come about “but I see bicyclists do this and that blah blah blah”. Yeah, maybe but they are taking their life into their own hands. They don’t run over cars and kill people, but they are overwhelmingly at danger and face death because of inattentive drivers, angry…
How do you even survive in society with this kind of critical thinking skill?
Sorry, I could have been more clear. While I find the suggestion of having cycling routes “elevated or underground or through buildings” to be silly, I’m not against proper bicycle infrastructure. It’s the last paragraph that’s the really bad part.
I read this elsewhere.
I feel bad for drivers facing these barriers. On one hand - yes, they are trying to save the lives of cyclists like me. But on the other hand, they make it tougher to watch YouTube while driving way over the speed limit. It’s a terrible inconvenience, that. What are they going to do next, force cars to stop before…
Holy shit, that’s a bad take. Please don’t make me list the reasons why; just renounce it and hope you can be forgiven someday.
Pro cycling safety infrastructure: We don’t want cyclists getting killed.
This is the natural evolution of our society’s constant demonization of drinking and driving. We treat it as an ever-present evil that must be snuffed out at all costs, rather a poor decision that a few people make.
That wasn’t the only article or mention about the looks. It was a unified front at Jalopnik at the time and they openly criticized people who disagreed. Hell, it got bad enough that some commenters thought Hyundai was paying Jalopnik to say such positive things about the styling.
You guys at Jalopnik kept trying to cram it down our throats, saying it was “gorgeous” and beautiful and all sorts of positive claims.
I learned a little about the models post 90s. Agree it is not a bad list, however, unless the difference from bottom to top of the list is razor thin, it seems a little strange that the first short wheelbase cars are near the bottom of the list and the next iteration with the extended wheelbase towards the top.
I have driven pre 964s and I find them to be wonderful driver’s cars. No they are not fast or I suppose comfortable by modern standards, but they are responsive, the light front end makes steering response like nothing most people will ever drive, and the view down the hood with the fender headlight bulges placed…
the 996 is hideous both inside and out. How Porsche managed to apply the absolute worst interior AND worst exterior design of any 911 is impressive. That’s why it is the absolute worst 911 ever. Resale value proves it.
