There aren’t any other electric minivans on the market or announced. The closest thing is the Pacifica PHEV, so if you want a BEV this is the only game in town. Plus the one problem with minivans has always been that they’re ugly. They managed to make a cool looking minivan, its not surprising that people want it.

What does ‘single model year run’ mean? They’re not selling *more* 2021's. Now they’re selling 2023s...

“The 2021 Durango Hellcat” was THAT model-year run. The “2023 Durango Hellcat” is a different model-year run.

You are still missing the point. Back in 1960, up-market brands were able to find ways to justify charging more for their products that didn’t result in overly complicated pointless headlights.

No, that is my point. Back in the day, even premium car brands were somewhat affordable to fix. They were made with sealed beam headlights (not that I want to go back to those) steel, and basically the same stuff the lower end things were. So, busting the headlight of your ‘60 DeSoto cost the same to fix as busting

What is the point of this comment? People still want new, they still want luxury, they just don’t want unnecessarily complicated and expensive to fix. There was a period of time that crunching a Volvo, Porsche or even a Ferrari in a minor fender bender cost relatively the same to fix as a Ford, Chevy or DeSoto. And

Yep. This is a shit take from Schilling, who apparently just copies and pastes from articles.

You’re literally searching for “regret f150 lightning” there. Even if not, I’d question anything on youtube because they’re just looking for views and plenty of people will do anything to get them, including destroying a new vehicle. I distinctly remember a guy who crashed a Raptor at high speed into a ditch on a

The dont fucking buy one. Jesus Christ. “Real truck like things” is not limited to hauling your obstinate ass with a camper from key west to Yellowstone.

The real-world towing range tests that are out there for the F150 Lightning show that it can go about 90 miles

Different horses for different courses, my man.

Perhaps we wouldn’t keep ranting (doesn’t feel like a rant) about range while towing if we weren’t being constantly told that this is an EV truck that does truck-like things!!

“truck like things” - my dude, nobody is buying a $100k truck to tow their landscaping trailer daily. They’re buying it to commute, to head to the grocery store, and possibly to tow their 10' bass boat the 15 miles to the river a few times a year. This is a dead horse that has been well beaten. There are SO MANY

Why do people keep ranting about range while towing? People that actually need to tow any great distance aren’t interested in these. These are for people that need to tow their boat five miles to the lake/river/whatever, but otherwise use their truck like a family sedan.

This is just the world that we live in now. The UK is lucky that Tata is only asking for $600 million:

uh, this isn’t the Golden Gate, dude. I dont think anyone in SF considers the old half of the Oakland Bay Bridge on the level of the mona lisa, lol.

Quit driving 5 under the speed limit in the left lane.

This is a list of shiny new things... come on dude.  One has to win.

The same could be said about any new model.

Exactly, I don’t get OP’s complaint. If Ford is really that much cheaper, Ford could have bid and won the contract. Hell, if Ford really is substantially cheaper like OP makes it sound, OP could have middle-manned it like tons of government contracts and personally raked in the cash like a true government contractor.
