RBPT is still effectively Honda. Red Bull doesn’t take full responsibility till 2026. RBPT doesn’t even own the intellectual property of the engines; it’s still belongs to Honda.

I mean, there are TONS of brands that have nothing to actually do with automotive parts or brands that have decided just having their name on a car is a good investment

Obviously deals like this make sense for Red Bull.  But they make no sense (to me) for companies like Ford or Infinity (or Tag Heuer).  Maybe Ford thinks there’s some return on getting their name on someone else’s engine--there actually could be.  But it’s mind boggling that the practice of throwing y0ur name on

Branded engines make no sense to me in F1, especially when they are branded by a car brand. Only second to watch branded engines.

No word on pricing for the Prime yet?

You are missing the point. The original Baja didn’t change the footprint (overall length) of the Outback. The Santa Cruz is over a foot longer than the Tucson. Even though the current Outback is bigger than it was before, theyd still have to make it longer for a Baja conversion or else they’d risk a tiny bed like

The Santa Cruz is larger, with a larger bed.

Why? Nothing about it is really Saab-ish. That’s just a generic futuristic sportscar with a grille that ever so slightly reflects a Saab a tiny bit.  Same thing with the PhoeniX.  Nothing about that concept was Saab; it was Jason Castriota regurgitating a design he previous had in his head and trying to turn it into a

I think the Baja would need some modifications to be popular though.  The bed was too small and it was visually awkward looking.  Move it closer to the Maverick and you’d likely have a winner.

In the grandscheme of things, Oldsmobile would have been the perfect EV brand.  In its prime, Oldsmobile was kind of the funky engineering testbed in certain ways.  Then GM went and let it die a slow death.

Killed Oldsmobile, killed Pontiac, killed Saturn, killed Geo, effectively killed Saab, has let Buick wither on the vine, killed Hummer only to have it return as a model of GMC...

I’m not suggesting they will produce hundreds of thousands of cars fewer than there are respective customers. I’m simply suggesting they will produce a bit less. What’s was the Harley Davidson adage that worked quite well for them in the early aughts (and appears to be working now)? Make one less than there are buyers.

My ‘15 Golf Sportwagen TDI had the fill port located close enough to the front of the engine bay that it made filling it without spilling (or minimal spilling) easy. My current Outback has enough shit packed around it and the port relatively buried that it’s like trying to spit on someone’s head from the Empire state

I’m currently replacing the quarter panels for my ‘65 Suburban. They don’t make quarter panels, so I decided (along with some people before me) to use bedsides from the same generation C10 short-box. The forums were filled with people saying how hard of a process it is because the bedside isn’t quite right.

Incentives right now are essentially non-existent due to supply shortages

Of course this all depends on how responsive they are. Some are utter trash, but generally, it’s a valid constituent responsibility of their office, and most try to do well in this area as it’s a clear way to make voters happy.

I don’t buy this, OEM’s essentially have a set margin per car and they really only make more on volume by selling more cars to the dealers. Dealers and retailers would benefit (ADM goes to the dealer, not the OEM)

JDM S2000s made 247 hp due to slightly higher compression

I’ve seen it rumored by several places that Toyota plans to keep an artificial scarcity on more and more models as time goes on. Basically, they are still going to manufacture a shit ton of vehicles, but generally produce fewer vehicles than their are customers wanting them. How severely they’ll do it will depend on
