She didn't buy enough to keep the company here. Shame on her.

There’s probably 3 or 4 people upset at the news.

No doubt.

Yes, I can see that similarity. The C4 Vette hasn’t aged well, either, but it doesn’t look as heavy as this generation of the 300ZX. Something about the 300ZX makes it look like it's carrying excess weight.

How much separation existed between this and the Infiniti M30?

Looking at the skyline?

CP. I couldn’t pay more than $3,000 to drive a car I didn’t like when it was new. It looks frumpy when compared to the other Japanese competitors of 1988. The 1988 RX-7 Turbo, in particular, was much more likable. The ‘80s 300ZX didn’t age well.

You do realize the Tacoma owns its segment, right? Maybe that’ll change with more models, but the Colorado and Canyon haven’t unseated it, despite their brand and newness.

The LUV and Courier were of an era where gas was super expensive and Detroit had no answer for the imports. As soon as the S-10 and Ranger were available, the LUV and Courier were phased out.

I still don’t connect the dots. What you’re saying is correct, but how is it related to badge engineering? Its sales suck because people shopping that segment don’t want it. It was true of the Subaru Baja, too. And the GMC Envoy XUV. And the Escalade EXT. And the Ramcharger.

They’re chasing subprime buyers. That's not the best market to pursue, even if it's generating a sales increase.

But there are no business dealings between Mitsubishi and Toyota.

You're off topic. The Ridgeline isn't a badge-engineered job and the question wasn't about manliness.

Dang it... Wrong brand, but still a badge job.

Oops... Wrong brand. Still, the badge-engineered Equator wasn’t a success.

Silly... It'll be called the 3000GT. The "GT" will be bastardized to stand for "great truck", or some such bullsh*t. Maybe they'll modernize the name to "3KGT", or something equally as stupid as "Eclipsecross".

Do truck buyers (aside from the GM fans) really want badge-engineered jobs? This didn’t work with the last Raider. The Equator did nothing for Isuzu, who also failed with the Hombre before that.

Which cars at this price point were outperforming the Supra Turbo?

That's incorrect. They didn't think the interior was a match for the price. Nobody had any complaints about the performance for the price.
