I mean I heard about DA:O from other RPG fans. So the success to some extent was tied to the genre and didn’t go outside of it. What inherent risk there was in the property was both by virtue of being an RPG in the American market and making the game as dark as it was.

Yea they probably are pulling the “from other places” card too soon. They could always do this but there are plenty of other Anime studios I think should get a shot. Toradora’s J.C. Staff is one. Maybe Studio Wit or Cloverworks as well.

The problem is there’s no winning. Tightly controlled MMR matchmaking will result in everyone’s matches being extremely sweaty which actually is what killed a lot of the buzz surrounding the game the first time and it will greatly increase queue times.
