What was terrible about Luke wasn’t necessarily the cool visuals. Even watching TLJ now I can appreciate some of the visuals and clever execution. It’s how it jammed way to much of what would be required to be shown in an arc to explain itself and did it in such a way it really jacked with Rey’s story.

Umm From the franchises? Not.

Even as someone who does not think highly of Kurtzman and doesn’t like much of the product so far after being a huge Star Trek fan, I cannot figure out who those channels are geared at.

It’s just unfortunate that this style is what they chose to start with. The best comparison I can make is Discovery/Picard is to Trek what Snyderverse is to DC. Its absolutely a valid artistic vision but you can’t really make the claim it is in-line with what came before it. I could have used Raimi in that comparison,

Isn’t it easier to believe that it’s only small subset of fans that actually want to spend 30 minutes in a character creator generating a character rather than play the main game group?

I’ve known plenty of gamers that geek out using one of these things but I’ve never been one of them. The longer I’m not playing the

I’m not sure it got lost. It’s that I don’t think the audience seemed to be able to hold “are terrible people” and “who are brutally murdered” as two separate and simultaneous ideas.

What about it did you like?

Keep in mind IO9 sort of migrated away from “stoked to just have SciFi” to “what kind of Sci Fi is it” is it a while ago (predating Jill.) Whereas at one time you dissected the plot and its problematic elements as an after effect, lately I’ve noticed the trend is to go after what something is from the get go rather

For me its just that the setup for this story for better or worse doesn’t work in a comic film. Remove the genders and what you have a is a severe power imbalance movie. There are genres for this but they are generally horror and thriller.

Oh I’m not building a case against Whedon. I’m just saying he’s also left a series of lets call them, less used actors that appear to also have histories with him. Carpenter is the best example, followed by Nicholas Brendon.

I know the main cast of Firefly loves him, my more overall point is that there are plenty more

Not even sure why people care. AWS while not a near monopoly has enjoyed first competitor and market dominance status since Gartner essentially defined Cloud services as what AWS provided despite other platforms existing with their own implementations that differed. This action by itself caused multiple firms to have

Love Whedon, but Whedon the man has always been cliquish with his actors. I don’t believe/disbelieve the accusations because I just don’t know.  Kai Cole’s accusations made them much more believable but until something corroborates something it’s mostly just Studio squabbling.

Especially as he’s leaned in to the support from the same toxic corner that birthed the “ReleaseTheSnyderCut” bullshit.

It’s not that online leftists are irrelevant. It’s that online leftists are inconsistent in effort put forth and thus become a bizarre mix of inconsequential and critical to the party. They are inconsequential in that they never, EVER turn up in sufficient numbers to push an election for more than 4 years leaving the

Bingo - Governing (or at least doing so without causing massive riots and or possible danger to the populace) is a game of concession, consensus and and continual selling.

Collins made her bed and she knows it. A meaningless no vote where it doesn’t matter doesn’t hold the same weight as it did when the President was on the line.

Moderates have seen her allegiance and whether or not they agree with it is the only question.  She’ll vote across party lines when it does not substantially

One of the things about the Raimi film(s), vs. the Marvel stuff or even TASM, is that is they seem laser focused on Peter’s journey and Peter’s journey alone. Generally the antagonist has an arc too. But for MJ or Harry, we really only see them through Peter’s eyes. His moments and his growth color how we see them. In

The warped humor was often a big draw to these games. It’s not like games like Space Quest or Beneath a Steel Sky or even The Longest Journey didn’t realize their puzzles were absurd - they were a big part of the hilarity.

This is just it. Harley’s had a bunch of great characters that are C listers: King Shark, Psycho to some extent, and yes Kite-Man. They’re not all good or bad.

Props to the screenwriter on that one.  First time I saw it, did not expect it.  Should have.  Didn’t.
