For me, the whole perspective on here came down to he was annoying and manic - and it’s like, the man is an engineer - I’ve seen that type before and he probably did when he was researching The Social Network. We have no way of knowing how extreme it would be in an all out war(or at least i’m just not familiar with projections of how long it would last and how many plants would die off because of it.) It’s been interesting to watch fan reaction to this series. Ed and Norma hurt, but it still felt right for the characters. One of perhaps the more grinding elements of The Return is how in the original series we were mythologizing and deconstructing a small town simultaneously.

Honestly? Sure. Tone of a film and the slices of a character we see in it don’t necessarily represent the totality of what can be done with a character.

Yes and no. Yes in the sense that traditionally indicates disaster. No, in the sense that the Overly nit-picking DC films which have been middling at best is kind of its own thing at this point. It’s probably just the difference in taste. One need not make things that everyone likes to be a genius. Truth be told, most filmmakers I’ve seen when asked will say glowing things about Bay - not because the films are great but because of what he puts into them.
