I am not saying slow cars are never fun - I am saying the principle is shit. Let me explain..

Cept that principle is basically shit. The car it applies to is the Miata which can blast around corners and is perfectly balanced. In general slow cars are like Nissan Cube which is a lot less fun to drive then a Porsche 911 turbo..
Drivetrain loss doesn't actually work like that. I forget where I was reading this but in general its more of a fixed number like say 40hp.. And thus very powerful engines won't lose 15%. Thus the 707 number could be bang on accurate.
The problem with your argument is that people will pay for capability. Forget super cars for example - how many people hit the g-forces that their tires can handle - ever? My car with summer tires can hit nearly 1.0g on the skid pad - but it will in all likelihood never hit this. So what I still like knowing that I…
Good point. I'd add that guys who can afford these cars can afford track time and afford the massive ticket they might get when they do run it up a bit on some deserted highway.
This is "amazing"? It does look cooler then a Prius - IMHO. Though I wonder what those tires pull on the skid pad - they are like bicycle tires. Can you flip this thing on fast left turns?
Rumours? C & D thinks its pretty much a done deal last I checked.
I call BS on this. States with safest highways:
Depending on the road a manual transmission is certainly more interesting.. I think these guys are talking about dead straight roads with zero traffic. For that all you need is a good stereo and a radar detector.. Manual transmission would be more fun if you were passing someone or downshifting before a curve...that…
Not really..how overloaded does the key chain need to be? Can you turn it back on? How can you tell this happened? There are lots of questions here that would explain the numbers..
Didn't chick-fil-a guy die? I doubt everyone at the company really hates gay marriage - the reality is most straight people don't really care one way or the other. It probably makes things a bit easier legally speaking in some scenarios..
It seems like a sound idea. Call me a racist or bigot - but I have noticed a lot of Indian/Muslim men in NYC do not use any antiperspirant. BTW - antiperspirant is a lot more effective then deodorant, IMHO.
This. Z/28 can beat almost anything - even a Corvette. The only cars faster then it are super cars and they are not much faster.. That being said its basically a tuner car/track prepped car straight from the factory. I think sometimes people in the US don't appreciate how awesome LS engines are...
They don't make a lot of practical RWD vehicles anymore though. The problem with something like a Camaro is its a lot of car for not much practicality.. Back in the 60s and 70s you had a lot more practical RWD vehicles - but they were bad in the snow.
Free Maintence would be the best thing about owning a Corolla. Yeah its just a few oil changes or whatever - but a good dealer is going to beat Jiffy Lube.. A new car is all about piece of mind for most buyers. With the maintence and warranty you are set for the first 4 years or so.. That's pretty nice.
I am about that size... What year Mustang do you have? I tried the new one at the car show and I found it very tight.. The old ones - the steering wheel didn't even adjust..
Third fastest car in C&D's lightning lap - beating out a Ferrari.. You can't really argue with this cars performance. It was a half second slower then a GTR-NISMO..
Lots of people love leasing. the ones that don't like it just enjoy owning something free and clear. I tend to buy my car with 'cash' and cut out financing all together..
Sounds good - cept lots of guys don't fit in the stang. Ford has amazing technology.. Big on the outside - small on the inside.
Much like the old days Dodge/Chrysler always seem to be trying to make do with a shoestring budget. You can reduce development costs by working with an old platform and custom parts but you end up paying a lot to assemble the car.
