I am with Gary Taubes on this.. Fat people are not lazy - they often have some of the most labor intensive jobs in the poorest areas. The main issue is that they are poor - and carbohydrates are cheap - so they eat a diet of mostly carbohydrates which for our bodies is unnatural and quite fattening.
