So question for the commentariat: this show, has it gotten any better? I tried the first two episodes when they came out and was seriously underwhelmed (pretty bland), but I like the concept and I like Josh Holloway. So, should I give it another shot?

Sideshow Bob is a villain, but he's not unlikable.

While I absolutely agree with you, I think your timeline doesn't entirely hold up. Terriers (which I enjoyed tremendously) isn't exactly a show from the 80s/90s TV hellscape of endless cop/lawyer/doctor shows you so accurately describe: Terriers was broadcast in 2010. Amazing shows that were still on the air in 2010,

Your No-Prize is in the mail, True Believer.

Well, I certainly felt the same way when I heard the phrase 'superhero fatigue', so fair enough.

On the one hand, I kinda agree with other commenters: maybe Minnesota fatigue is setting in with this show?

Sad upvote.

Saturnz Barz sounds pretty good. Other tracks…hmmm. But then, most Gorillaz albums are 2-3 pretty good-to-great songs and a whole bunch of filler, so at least they're consistent.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Cardiac to me is pretty much perfect (love that Erik Larsen design), except for his name.

Shriek at least has a good name, a striking design and well-defined powers.

Upvoted, because yes, Typeface is literally the worst. No redeeming qualities whatsoever.

A lot of covers from that Stern/Romita era are stone-cold classics: Spidey tearing of Hobgoblin's mask, them fighting in front of the flames, Spidey's fist coming out of the Hudson clutching the mask, all gorgeous, powerful images.

Personally, my appreciation for even very minor and forgettable Spider-Man villains and allies runs deep and wide, so you won't see me badmouthing the likes of Phil Urich (I liked his run as a heroic Green Goblin!), Rocket Racer, Cardiac, Stunner, White Rabbit, Grizzly, the Spot, etc. because I love many of those

The problem I have with Parker Industries is that, yes, you are right, it will inevitably disappear at one point (bankruptcy, foreclosure, stolen and turned into a new Oscorp, etc.) - and then it will sit forever in-continuity as this weird anomaly that totally fucks with the hard-luck, scrabble-to-survive superhero

For a rebel, play-by-his-own-rules type like Wolverine to work, you need a rules-is-rules leader type like Cyclops for contrast and conflict. It's a thankless job, but Cyclops is better at it than most.

Plus, an artifact of that horrible Infinity War crossover that just stuck around for some reason.

Respectfully, get a brain. Hobgoblin (Kingsley) is easily one Spider-Man's most intriguing, awesome villains. Even the Macendale version starred in some solid stories. Plus the orange/grey visual is just striking and dope.

Morlun is worse than Judas Traveller.

Yeah, no shit. One of my favorite What If… stories has them become a couple and it always seemed like an intriguing pairing, especially since it would open up Spidey to some more international type adventures without having to rely on a concept as inanely stupid as Parker Industries.
