That, or Bill Ponderosa. Less queasy more sleazy.

Make it pre-2000 hip-hop and you've got a deal. Your cutoff point precludes Life After Death and All Eyez On Me, and I don't want to live in a world where Danny and Luke can't bust heads to Kick In The Door.

"And join the Avengers!"

I think Eric LaRay Harvey has menace and charisma in spades (he was great as Dunn Purnsley in Boardwalk Empire too), and was pleasantly surprised to see him in Luke Cage. So, pretty good get, if you ask me.

Method Man playing himself was amazing, and considering how interwoven comic books and hip hop have been in my life, an incredibly powerful moment.

There is nothing, I repeat nothing 'regrettable' about Longshot's hair. Longshot's hair is RAD.

I agree, and I hope Marvel is taking notes.

On the one hand, even if this not the same universe as the one the X-Men movies took place in (well, either of the timelines), it's a variant thereof, and those already had Cerebro and Sentinel tech in the '70s.

But Fargo was full of movie actors…and Stewart was on Extras.

Spot on.

Based on her personality, I get the feeling that she's kind of like Cary's Id manifested as separate person - but they still (as became abundantly clear in this episode) share a link.

Yeah, absolutely a Vertigo vibe - while watching this episode I suddenly realized that Professor Bird and her band of lo-fi ersatz X-Men actually remind me of Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol too.

Definitely Shadow King. Who I always thought would make an excellent villain for one of the movies, but really is even more well-suited for the slow-burn mindfuck that is Legion.

Now I know why that voice sounds so familiar. Thank you!

I got the impression that Kerry is like Cary's Id unleashed. All action, appetite and spoiling for a fight.

I noticed the earring/ladder thing too - I think, since how David perceives the Astral Plane (outside Oliver's icy hideaway at least) is defined by his subconscious, it's meant to show that David associates his ex-girlfriend with 'support' and 'help'.

I would argue Buffy was a superhero show at its core as well, and a great one at that. But as for shows based on preexisting superhero properties, yeah, I think this is probably the best one so far.

Between Lenny's evilness, the Demon with the Yellow Eyes being a 'parasite' and David's imaginary childhood dog being called 'King':

I'm more of a National Review guy myself, to be honest.

Christ almighty. When I watched the Training Day pilot the other day, I thought: "This is some thoroughly mediocre shit…but man, Bill Paxton is always fun to watch!" Made me want to re-watch Big Love and his bad guy episodes of S.H.I.E.L.D., that pilot did.
