It all depends on how you use cars.

I did the math, and car sharing is considerably more expensive than car ownership. At the cheapest uber possible during commute times, it’s like $13 a trip. and you need 2 trips to and from work. Assuming one round trip on a saturday and sunday (neither realistic as that’s low) you are already pushing past $800/m for

Yes, people really want to get in a car with a stranger that another stranger just got out of right now .

Not a whole lot of UberLyfts with six feet of separation.

I think these dealerships are forgetting that 36 million people don’t have a job and most likely WON’T qualify for a new car loan any time soon.

When’s the last time someone bought a refrigerator, TV or computer and then thought “Hmm. This might only be worth $100 in 10 years if I try to resell it.”

Not when you take into account the time wasted waiting for your ride to show up, and issues like unsanitary vehicles, rude drivers, and even the assaults that have happened.

No thanks, I’ll keep my car so I can have a ride waiting the moment I decide I need one.

lol. what? If you live your entire life within 2 square miles, you might be right.

If you still want to use Uber. To some people, Uber and buses are out after c19.

Do you live in NYC or a similar sized city? I think you live in NYC or a similar sized city. Otherwise this take is so terrible I don’t know what to make of it.

Cheaper maybe, but how many people want to be in an Uber in close quarters with a driver who may or may not have sanitized surfaces in between rides?

Ehhhh, I don’t think this is true for anyone other than people who live in very dense urban centers. I live in a 1M-sized city, a “medium city” by today’s standards, and at one point I did crunch the numbers on using services rather than buying a car. I concluded I’d spend approximately 30x the cost of a car payment

Where do you live?

If you live in David Tracy’s neighborhood, at least a dozen.

How many Leafs (Leaves?) can you have in your lawn before your insufferable neighbor calls the town on you for not taking them all up?

I’ll never get past the interior. It’s so blah for the price. And I’m one of those guys that doesn’t need Bentley levels of luxuriousness.

It just makes no sense that they don’t give a futuristic car like that a HUD or Audi-like cockpit display directly in front of the driver. None.

I considered it during my last car purchase, well a used one. I already wasn’t a fan of the interior design, but seeing what it looks like after a year or two of use, it looked like an early 00's Hyundai quality stitching and materials.

This is my gripe with the 3 too. I just cannot get used to the center mounted screen for all the information. I really hope the next gen Model S doesn’t adopt this same layout, but I suspect that all things Tesla will.

Fucking PREACH.
