I found it more distracting that every review felt compelled to mention it when, realistically, ‘sexposition’ made up a tiny fraction of any given season’s running minutes.

I see it the opposite way. I thought Martin’s last book was a bloated, horrid piece of shit. The show, on the other hand, made quick work of it in one season and greatly improved the story.

I’ve just gotten to the third book and I have to say it would be almost impossible to represent the books exactly. There is so much more information in there, not even including the deviations. There are actors you have to pay, which is why they take out unnecessary characters. But besides that it’s almost impossible…

Yeah, because they were great characters in the book, and while GRRM’s writing can be tough to slog through sometimes, especially the last couple books, there was some great material in Dorne. The show could have really used some of that
